Dreger says on TSN1050 that he expects Marner's camp to take negotiations beyond July 1st.
He says he expects the Marner to visit teams starting June 26 in the RFA offersheet interview period.
Dreger says the Leafs will have to make an aggressive offer: 10+,10.5+,11+

So, would you prefer Panarin or Marner? I am thinking Marner due to age? |

The man set up his Ps4 with Vue to watch cable and hockey. If he can do that, he can learn to double quote. |

You overestimate him and this site.
I think the biggest issue with functionality is this site being built on standards from like Y2K. |

I would prefer Panarin because he's free
I have no concerns about his age, he's like 23 years old in NHL years |

Fair enough.
Does Marner play only wing? |

In a vacuum, Marner for sure. But, as Jimbo pointed out, Panarin only costs money and cap space. Marner probably costs four 1st round picks. |

Id rather sign Panarin for free, but let’s say we miss on Panarin. Instead of an offer sheet maybe offer them a trade? I bet it would start with Chytil Howden Buch |

Toronto would rather have the offersheet compensation I would guess. Need to add +++ to that offer. |

They would want Miller or Nils in a trade. They need D, and Marner is elite at 23, they aren't taking Hajek. As much as I don't want to trade either of those guys, getting a elite player like Marner might be worth considering it. |

I would think if you want to get Marner, you have to be pretty sure there is a decent chance he stays with you through the next contract too. I don't think there is going to be a huge drop off with Panarin, but there is a non zero chance the last third of that contract being really painful. With Marner, you have the potential for having him 15 years if you wanted to. |

For sure, yeah. I'd rather have four consecutive 1st round picks and Panarin than I would just Marner though |

Believe it or not, I'd consider that too. Marner is just that good. I don't think anything can be 100% completely off the table with him. |
