That is very true. The Blues are shooting their shot like the Raptors did this year in the NBA. Signed Maroon, Bozak, Perron, and traded for ROR in the span of a week. All the power to them, they need to win it this year or it might be a long time till they are back.

I was told mid to late first rounders take 3+ years to make it to the NHL and they should be traded to “win now”. Somebody forgot to tell Boston that, who needs a McAvoy, Pasternak, Carlo, or Debrusk when you could or traded for Brassard or Stepan. Who is the idiot running that gong show

The Bruins have been to a Cup final since trading Seguin, and are very likely to win one this year without him. Granted, they were a far deeper team than Buffalo ever was when they traded him, but your point stands. "Fit" is a thing when it comes to a Championship team.
