Thank you. - TheHank
Unions served an important purpose in the first half of the twentieth century when there was an insane imbalance in income between the workers and those who owned the means of production.
Then in the second half of the 20th century that imbalance largely disappeared, and there was little or no need for union activity in most of the American economy. In fact, unions were in many regards bad for the wellbeing of the ecomony, and they were uniformly viewed as a major contributor to the reorganization of the autmobile manufacturing and airline industries throughout the 80's, 90's and early 2000s.
It may be time to reexamine their postive attributes, though, as our current economy evolves into a "gig economy" dominated by "the next great idea."
Not sure that a small group of professionals whose average income is in the mid 7 figures needs collective representation, though.

But Berglund also failed himself

When doctors force-feed you prescriptions drugs to stop the intense pain caused by a work-related injury, you lose your ability to reason. Addiction is a disease. Even people with the strongest willpower fall victim to addictions.
Our society is an absolute joke for punishing instead of rehabilitating these people.
The prescription drug industry and the doctors who shill out their opioids is quite possibly the biggest threat to the American way of life right now and everyone has their heads collectively up Donald Trump, Robert Mueller, Nancy Pelosi's asses.
Americans are so out of touch an emotionally redundant.
It makes me sad how most of the people in this country act. Vicious sociopaths who will stomp a baby to get a dollar and people are "Yo that's capitalism bruh"

Yes and Peyton Manning holds the record for most interceptions as a rookie. Go look at my post at the top of page 13 and you'll see what I'm talking about regarding Allen's accuracy.
I'll say it for the second time, posters can use faith based intuition for Allen and say he is going to be a darn good QB. I think he has the tools to get there but hes far from a finished product.
However when I used faith based intuition to say Tage has a chance to be a middle 6 contributor with scoring touch its a barrage of takes saying he wont be anything without giving the kid more time.
Allen scored 38th out of 39 of NFL QB's last year according to PFF and yet Flacco is a running joke on here yet he has more rings then both Buffalo franchises put together. Figure that one out. - Pegullaville
Can we all just shut the duck up about Tage Thompson?
He sucks and no one except for his mom and some Sabre’s fan even know who he is. Autocorrect doesn’t even know Tage is supposedly a name for a boy or a human for Christ sakes.
No one cares about him.if I had his extra tall jersey I would cut the name patch off and replace it with T. Berger as a really witty joke. (The T is for turd- get it?)
There are about 15 other poopty players in this team that need to be purged like a gif showing a felching skunk’s anus.
The Stanley cup playoffs are on tv and I keep hearing about Tage (frank)ing Thompson. Who the (frank) cares. If we ever even make it close to the playoffs in the next 50 years, he sure as poop won’t be on the (frank)ing team. |

Very good point about doctors & overmedicating
Totally agree with a lot of what you’re saying
Adicts can also be very good about hiding their symptoms from those closest to them
Berglund (or whoever) has gotta go get help though
I’m sure there’s a system in place to help these guys
I get it’s your opinion that they let him down
I think it’s probably not that cut & dry
Probably some blame on all the involved parties,
including Berglund himself |

Berglund didn't "walk away", his employer terminated his contract the second they could because they don't believe in helping their employees seek out therapy and counseling and possibly rehab for a pain-killer addiction caused by work-related injuries.
The NHLPA is a joke for letting this happen, IMO. - BeadyEyedDouche
So why did the sabres help Lehner?

His literal user name is SABRES89 and he posts on the Sabres blog... No one should be saying anything nice about our pile of sh!t organization until it stops crapping it's pants. It's unacceptable and the only reason I went to 2 games this year is because I got both tickets for a total of 35 dollars and I know the second they get good, all the bandwagon wankers will start selling their tickets on stubhub at prices that rival a Maple Leafs home game... Seriously, during that 10-game win streak, 300-level tickets went from 15 bucks to 80.

How do you not blame Sobotka at all? Are you serious?
Tage had 7 goals in 65 games.
So about 10 over 82.
You honestly don’t think an average 3rd line center gets him 2-3 goals minimum over 82 games?
12-13 goals on a 3rd 4th line isn’t bad.
You act like he pulled a Leino. - OneKaneOneCup

Ok, I am now firmly on the cole caufield bandwagon. Good call gerbe (months ago). This kid just lights the lamp everywhere he goes. If we’re talking strictly about goal scoring (skinner) he’s bordering on no-brainer territory. Sign me up. If he was 6’0 or better there’s probably no chance he’s still on the board at 7oa which is a shame. My brother was a really fantastic player but at 5’8 in 1999 nobody would give him a look, I really hope we are beyond that stigma. I’m hopeful he’s still there for us at 7oa. Other than turcotte, who outside of a miracle won’t be available there, he’s the guy I want. Let’s go. |

I’m a little nervous about his foot speed though
At his size,
i wonder if not having speed (like Gudreau for example) will allow bigger defensemen & forwards to knock him off the puck & prevent scoring opportunities
Not saying it will for sure,
but I’d be less nervous about him if he was a better skater |
