So if Pgh was interested in Zucker, who is our equivalent to make that deal happen?
Do we even have one? - Powerslave
I think Lockport Larry and a 7th would suffice

Good write up about Karlsson on VGK blog.
Botts, if you're listening, go make a play for WK and C Miller!

Great article on Athletic about tanking and how long teams that have tanked have to wait and put all the pieces in place before getting success. Pittsburgh did not get a Cup until Mario's 8th year, for example.
After reading it I realized it is absolute lunacy to be parting with picks and prospects at our stage of the team being built. Giving up first-rounders and prospects is how TM simply brutalized our rebuild. Trying to add one or two pieces now (Point, Karlsson, whomever) by getting rid of Nylander, Olo, 7 oa, late first, Borgen, etc. would further deplete our already pitiful prospect pool and we are still not ready to pull moves like that.
Draft and develop. Draft and develop. Mitts and Rasmus (the good one) haven't even scratched the surface of what they can become. UPL or whoever is the goalie that gets us there is not even on the team yet. We have a few prospects that may cut it in 3 years but by then we will know more about who stays and who is gone from the current roster and be better stocked to make those trades at that time, assuming patience and a new coach pay dividends.
If we trade Mitts for a 2/3 C now that ends up being our next Okposo in 3 years I will absolutely be done with this franchise. Keep me signed up for the slow but steady build, please, JB. - LandlordTom

Sabres should look to LVGK for both Karlsson and Miller IMO.
If they can't get Karlsson, then take Miller...which then makes Risto expendable for Top 6 help.
I like the rest though. - IonSabres
I kinda wanna see Risto with Dahlin
If he can make Bogo look good,
I’ve got a feeling they could be a really nice pair too
I like C.Miller ok if they do decide to trade Risto,
but Botts better make sure he gets a good return
I’ve got Botts scores at 1-1-1 when it comes to major trades
The Skinner trade was a win, although if he walks that probably goes to a tie
The ROR trade was a definite loss, just brutal
And the Kane trade was a tie imo bc I’d have liked more, but it seems circumstances prevented such. Plus getting Montour for that 1st makes it look a bit better |

Are we going to be kicking ourselves in two years when UPL is starting in goal for Vegas, and Samuelsson is on the cusp of becoming a top 4 D for them while Wild Bill isn't, well, so wild anymore? - Powerslave
Yea now replace wild Bill with ROR and instead of Samuelsson and UPL, it’s a cost efficient middle 6 winger in Thompson and the fact that we are picking 7th and 30th instead of possibly 14th(our record if we kept him). $6.5M in cap savings after this year as well. |

Maybe if we were “close”
But i doubt Kessel sees us that way |

The team we’ll be icing in a few years won’t be. While the Blues will be rebuilding like they should have done this season. ROR will be on his 4th team by 2022 if they can even offload him at that point. |

Can they even unload him now?
He’s already declining... right? 😂😂😂
If end doing dumb sh!t like overpaying Hayes to make up for the ROR mistake,
or overpaying someone like Dzingel if Skinner walks, etc etc etc
Then we aren’t gonna be anything but a borderline playoff team (at best) for years to come |

Just heard close on GR. Speculation is 8 years, 8.5-9.5 AAV.

I’d like if it was a lower AAV, but whatever
We can’t afford to lose those 40goals
Thanks for the info! |

For sure

Signing Skinner was always Step1 though, imo |
