Bob McKenzie said 8.5-9.5 as well
It’s not like Homie & 89 are out on a limb here - jdfitz77
Most Sabres fans have pretty much guessed those amounts.
I'm just saying jbotts suprises most everyone and gets it done for less then expected. (Not 9 million anyways)
Jbotts is gonna be sneaky with cap bonuses ect.
Similiar to the ror deal, except hopefully part of the deal isnt to play skinners brother for 20 games in the nhl.
The sabres organization is backed into a corner and they need to sign skinner or face enormous backlash.

Regardless of who of us has or hasn’t said it...
You haven’t given a reason to doubt McKenzie’s report
He’s usually bang on
It would be a pleasant surprise if it’s an 8mil Cap hit |

Who said $8m though?
McKenzie said between $8.5m and $9.5m, and it was his feeling on it...not a quote from those sources.
It may be splitting hairs, but if he came in at $8.75m x 8 you get $70m. That $8.75 is right in line with McKenzie's thoughts...so why do you say he us ignoring what has been reported, by 1 man? The others are leeching onto him.
Unless they changed math, and the order of numbers in a Base 10 system, then Boss is spot on.
TBH, I too have been thinking the same as Bossman. |

Forgetting ROR, and Skinner for a moment, let's move onto other interesting subjects...
I hope you all took the advice to WAKE-UP and EDJUMOCATE yourselves since yesterday's visit from Mr. Knowledgeable!
Who is your pick at 7 OA?
Who is your pick at 30/31?
Who is your #1 FA target?
Who is your surprise acquisition?
Backup your thoughts as best you can.

There are no performance bonuses allowed for players not on ELC deals or signing 35+ contracts.

Anywhere north of 5M$ is overpaying. How can you pay him more than Pastrnak, Marchand or Bergeron who all makes less than 7M$.
So you're advocating for a team of 3rd and 4th liners only?...cause that's what you're going to get if you think a consistent 30+ goal scorer isn't worth north of $5M |

Who is your pick at 7 OA? - Whoever falls that Gerbe likes. Kid seems to know prospects...
Who is your pick at 30/31? - traded in a package for Dahlin’s partner.
Who is your #1 FA target? - Eberle. Played for Ralph...
Who is your surprise acquisition? - Yakapov on a prove it deal.
Honorable mention- Samson gets his long term deal this summer.
I think you’ll see a lot more turn over than just that. I think a lot of dead weight will be turned over.
I have a feeling Steve Smith will give the 411 on a few players to Ralph and those stiffs will be out. The sheer lack of interest after the win streak was disturbing...

Yes, yes I know. Skinner has his arm shoved so far up Botts’ arse he could work his mouth like a puppet. I get it. |

Not Skinner his agent, Botterill had a window to work with before, after Stone signed, not happening. IMO he's worth 7 but every year it changes and we need to change with it. I get it , you don't like him. |

It's unfortunately the cost of doing business. If Botts can keep it under $9M, more power to him. I just don't see it happening and I don't want to roll the dice that someone won't offer him more.
Even if the Sabres said, see what the best offer is and bring it to us to beat/match, they would be playing with fire. |

I like Skinner, just don’t agree with his value. I don’t see any reason to not like a guy who scores 40 goals.
I just wish for $9M a year he’d also be a dominate possession player who could rack up assists as well. His career average is 56 points a season. |

doesn't look good to watch him walk over 500K or a million, yes easy to say but times change every year and it will be hard to replace Skinner. Panarin won't sign here. |

JC!
Ok, I'll go...
-7OA - Caufield, if still there, Boldy if not. Scoring on the wing.
-31st - Samuel Poulin, RW, Sherbrooke-QMJHL...tough on the puck, competitor, great 3rd liner
-FA target- tough call here, really tough. Position of beed immediately is 2C, but with CM's development need to find an affordable guy who can move down and/or to the wing. RNH seems appropriate as a trade...I think I go with Colin Miller to steady the D down though...having solid RhD's is a great thing. COLIN MILLER it is.
- Surprise acquisition - maybe hopeful more than surprise...C- Cirelli from Tampa in a trade |
