Again I don’t want to do this trade. I was responding to a poster who thinks NJ would trade Hughes plus for Eichel. I was saying to NJ that #1 pick and Hughes has more value then Eichel. You might disagree but I think they hang up if we wanted Eichel plus

By this logic it'd be in the franchise's best interest to just trade anyone not named dahlin for 1st round picks in 2020 to ensure prime odds at lafreniere.

He's not untouchable because I or we think he's perfect. He's untouchable because any offer you get at best sets the team back several years, at worst (and most likely) you give up the best player in the deal short and long term.

His production fell off last year due to injuries, there GM pointed that out a number of times and Turris is a center that will really need, 2nd line just to mention. But yea, let's compare him to Okposo who is completely useless. Both contracts are bad but i'll take Turris all day over Okposo.

Hughes is also a Center. And this is a cap league. Eichel right now is slightly overpaid, hopefully in the next couple years he will be underpaid by turning it up a notch.

Hughes will be grossly underpaid for his projected performance for the next three years. That prob has more value since NJ could have a Hughes and a Panarin for the same price as an Eichel for three years. I think that’s where Homie was coming from by trading an Eichel.

This is if you project Hughes to be similiar talent to Eichel, I’m not sure how they are supposed to compare.

I'm sorry but nothing that I've read on Hughes tells me he is going to be producing like McDavid, Draistail, Matthews, or MacKinnon as a top 5 drafted C while on his ELC. Pettersson is showing promise too.

I just love the amount of credit going directly to ROR for STL's success.... not the fact that they already have one of the best wingers in the NHL today, not that they have maybe the best top 3 dmen on one team in the NHL, and not an absolutely incredible rookie goaltender carrying the team.

sure, but those 10 games did happen. If you're gunna cut them out cause it was improbable you'd have to cut out 10 games of equally bad luck.

You could say the same thing about KO, with the injuries.

Idk, stats wise, and when you throw in the terrible contract, Turris and Okposo are mirror images of each other.
