funny thing is I never said the sabres SHOULD trade Eichel
but if a team offered jack hughes, a 2020 first and maybe a tad more
botts should listen
no sabre is untouchable and if we are not going to compete with the bolts, bruins and leafs for 3 years, it would be an interesting conversation on any other hockey chat site
esp if skinner walks - homiedclown
If Skinner walks... idk what we should do?
I could see a road where we sign some guys like Hayes, Dzingel, etc etc
But that type of roster likely tops out as a team that gets consistently beat in round 1
I think if you’re gonna overpay, then it’s gotta be for top tier guys &/or goal scorers
Can’t be doing that for mid-tier guys
Let’s hope Skinner doesn’t like what he hears from other teams in the tampering period |

Bob McKenzie of TSN.ca is reporting that the Calgary Flames are interested in trading a defenseman and Travis Hamonic and T.J. Brodie are at the top of the list.
"I’ve been hearing a lot that Calgary is very intent on moving a defenseman, either Travis Hamonic or TJ Brodie. Brodie and Hamonic are two names we’re hearing a lot of because the Flames have good young defencemen they feel can take over for one of those guys," McKenzie said. "And also like when I mentioned the Michael Frolik potential trade, they are trying to free up dollars to be able to sign restricted free agent Matthew Tkachuk." Stay tuned. - SABRES 89
Another guy who was traded a first from the past few years. Add him to the Brassard and Stepan poop pile. People wonder why I’d rather roll the dice with a top 10 cost controlled draft pick then trade a first rounder “to win now” smh. |

I haven’t seen Calgary much lately
You guys have any thoughts on these defensemen?
I’d assume their “numbers” were pretty good being a such a good team |

U constantly twist things to say “win now”
When literally everyone who was/is saying to trade 1sts are saying to do so for a Montour type trade- that will help us now, & in the future
Come on dude
You know this |

That’s how it looks. Whether it was intentional or not is another question - Whatnot78
Goodell's job is to maximize the value of the league for the owners. If they believe each team getting a new stadium does that, he has every right to promote that. In fact, I would argue that he has an obligation to do so. The Bills need to convince the league that it's not in its best interest, not the other way around, especially in today's day and age of revenue sharing. |

Brodie would be ok IMO. Hamonic asked to be moved from the Isles due to family reasons he said. |

I’m okay with adding a defensemen or 2.
The Sabres need a change in their top 6 d next year. The issue isn’t adding D ..... is getting out from a bad contract once you add a d.
Sabres sign a Gardner or trading for Trouba or what ever we do. (Using those names for example)
Moving a current Sabres D won’t be easy. What team wants Scandella. McCabe. Bogo Nelson hundwick Who wants that trash? |

New Era field is an absolute dump .... goodell, the pegulas, and the entire NFL knows his. You can only add so many bandaids onto that stadium. It’s way past it’s life expectancy.
And no, New Era field does not have the history that the Chiefs and packers have to do a full on renovation. That might cost as much as a new stadium.
And as for tailgating downtown .... go downtown and see how many open ground parking lots buffalo has wide open. Fan will find a way to tailgate and have a good find. |

He's cheap, he's okay, has trouble staying healthy. I wanna keep him. I don't care for the rest of the Scanner, Bogo, Hunwick trash pile though. |

That’s fair about McCabe. I do like McCabe. But if we add a defensemen or 2
We will have to unload our current d. I guess that’s my point. That’s easier said than done. |

I don't live in Erie County, so I don't really give a sh¡t, but do people really want to spend like $800M in extra taxes? I doubt a new stadium would come in under a billion(the Raiders new stadium in Las Vegas is $1.8B), the NFL kicks in like $150M I think. We're not big enough to do a bond drive or a hotel tax, it's going to be pretty much straight tax. |

This quote from him is pure BS:
On why things would be different in Buffalo vs. what happened in San Diego:
“You’re talking exactly about what I was just talking about which is the importance of a stadium. A stadium is going to maintain the kind of fanbase that is going to keep the team competitive and allow us to be successful in that market and that’s exactly why we’re focusing on it here in this market, as well as we have in every other market. I think there’s been $13 billion spent just in the last eight years on stadiums across the NFL."
Bills fans don't need and I would argue most don't want a big bells and whistle stadium.
You're right a new stadium means more money for the league |

I've been saying it for a little while now. It's gonna be a lot of work to overturn this roster this offseason. Very few free agents here. It's possible Botts mostly sits on his hands, hopes for the best, and wait till next year when it'll be a lot easier to make moves. |

But it's not really
It needs more bathrooms and wider concourse
But I have been in 6 other NFL stadiums
The one in Tampa, Miami, Jacksonville, Pittsburgh, Philly, and MetLife in New York
The only one that was awesome was MetLife
The others ranked in order
MetLife
Philly
Pittsburgh
Tampa
Miami
Jacksonville
Miami was just upgraded and other than the scoreboard there isn't anything that makes me think it's better than New Era Field |

There is nothing wrong with having a plain stadium IMO
