Imagine if Tim Murray was even decent at his job... he could’ve waited 3 years and picked up his man for 2 cap dumps, a b prospect and the 30th pick instead of the trade he actually made.
- TheHank

Imagine if Botts wasnt in over his head, he wouldnt have gave away O'Reilly for nothing.

At least I’m not a post editor. Total Mitch move. In the words of Rasheed Wallace, Ball don’t lie.

If Murray wasn’t a drunken mess, we wouldn’t even be talking about botts.

Sure we would. We would be talking about how botts traded Oreilly to Murray for camp dumps and other irrelevant collateral

So, if Murray wasn’t a drunken mess, Botts would be the gm in Colorado?

No one else is trading O'Reilly for that garbo. So in your scenario of Murray acquiring him for that package, he must be.

Tough to say
Maybe a Montour-like deal?
Pick 30/31,
plus someone they like that we aren’t super high on anymore- Nylander?

I’d be shocked if Kessel waived to come here

Hate the Duchene signing

Use the Kessel assets to get W.Karlsson
Idk about RW for Jack?
Maybe try Olofsson

60% of those cups were a result of tanking
- Pegullaville

Can’t say that for Pitt
They didn’t get Crosby from tanking
That was just dumb luck
Without Crosby... no Cups (most likely)

So from the guys they actually tanked for...
they’d have probably just been a good team,
but not great

I don't live in Erie County, so I don't really give a sh¡t, but do people really want to spend like $800M in extra taxes? I doubt a new stadium would come in under a billion(the Raiders new stadium in Las Vegas is $1.8B), the NFL kicks in like $150M I think. We're not big enough to do a bond drive or a hotel tax, it's going to be pretty much straight tax.
- Wetbandit1

I personally want no part of helping to pay for a new stadium but this country loves giving money to billionaires so we will probably foot a good part of the bill. They can go setup shop elsewhere for all I care.

I think they will be pretty close. I dont mind Caufield at all. If he is what he is made to be I wouldn't mind the second coming of Debrincat.
- Sabre_Tooth

I feel pretty good being able to pick from a field of Turcotte, Zegras, Caufield, Cozens, Dach, Byram, Broberg and Boldy. I think Pod drops into the middle of the draft. We saw what center needy teams in Arizona and Montreal would do to jump guys like Zadina and Tkachuk. I think you can make a case for any of the 4 (leave out NJ and NYR) to go directly for center, as it's typically the most desired position in the draft.

I'd be pretty surprised if Cole didn't fall to 7. Cozens, Turcotte, Zegras and Dach are all very appealing centers, and Byram and Broberg both have top line potential.

I can't see Chicago passing on a center, as the only C under 30 they have is Strome. Colorado is in need of a long term 2C, as Tyson Jost hasn't shown much yet. LA is in a similar place as Chicago, and will need a guy to supplant Kopi in 4-5 years, right when this class will be hitting its prime. If they don't see Kupari being able to take that spot, they go C. Otherwise, their defense is old and poopty, they go Byram. Yzerman has an affinity to highly talented Russians I think. He may just gamble on Podkolzin's skill, but I'd be surprised. The Wings I'm sure would love another guy to pair with Larkin. Their defense and pipeline is quite weak as well. Broberg or Zegras.

So I'd say Jack, Kaapo, Turcotte, Cozens, Zegras, Byram are gone when the Sabres pick. They pick from Dach, Pod, Cole, Boldy.

Adam Humphries didn't sign with the Pats cause he thinks Brady's too old.

No to the D man and no to Dach and Boldy because of their skating. We need elite forward speed

I forgot how amazing our defensive prospects are.

I'd rather have the potential of Caufield.
