I haven't slept past 4am in months

I believe this Leafs-Jets deal, it's probably got a few moving parts, like them also getting rid of Zaitsev

- jimbro83

I don't know, he should've known his f'n name if he was told by Shanny no?
Troubda was awesome

He's getting 7.5 -8M per?

I kind of feel like I actually believe it more because he screwed the name up

Welcome to the early riser club. I could be out drinking, cant sleep past 6:30 to save me life.

I think this Leafs-Jets deal is legit. It makes perfect sense for both teams. I think they will have some difficulty moving Zaitsev.

wouldn't it be great if the Leafs did acquire Trouba so we can all move on from the guy?

Lol yeah. Though I'm worried who the next guy will be. Get to hear months of "have to sign EK now because we lost out on Trouba"

Or maybe, just maybe, they’ll stick to their guns and see what all of these d prospects have. Something tells me Gorton and JD are a much more patient pairing than Gorton was.

I think Gorton's been pretty patient, I mean they kept running Pionk out there 20+ minutes a night last year even when he was getting roasted repeatedly

I think management has done this. I'm not sure how this rebuild is going to turn out, but they have pretty much done exactly what they said they were going to do ever since the letter. The fans expectations on the other hand....

yeah I think so too, Gorton's shown a lot of patience I think

Arguably JD has been proven more impatient with his recent actions making moves than Gorton has

Did the Devils draft Krebs yet?
- smellmyfinger

That's and interesting question...what if the Devils are the ones who screw this up and take Spencer Knight number 1 overall.

1. Who do the Rangers pick at #2

2. Do the Devils sign Knight to a 15 year contract?

No worries TJ, I understand. I just figured you have always been willing to trade.

Public Service Announcement.

Anaheim Ducks have picks #9 and #29 in round 1 as well as pick #39 in round 2.

I am looking to move up either from #29 into the teens or from #9 into picks 3-7.

I am not limited to just moving pick as prospect and roster players can come into play.

It would cause chaos in the whole draft. Although I would want to take Kakko, the team would probably take Hughes. Not that it's a bad thing.

The real thing is what happened with Chicago. They covet Byram. However, now they would have to take whoever is left of Hughes/Kakko. Do they try to trade down? If Byram is still on the board at 4, does some other team try to leap Detroit and take him there? How far does someone like Turcotte fall?

First thought I have about this trade is, “why didn’t they do it 6 months ago!!!”

because that was before Kadri (frank)ed up another 1st round series for Tronna. After all he has possibly the best 2C value for money contract in the league...

I think Kadri in the playoffs, might actually come up smaller than Nash ever did

This is why I’m skeptical of the deal. Why would a team looking to shed salary trade a good contract for one that is expected to go up? Unless Toronto purely does this to then flip Trouba...

or Shanny just said; enough is enough with Kadri - (frank)ing up the 1st round both this year and last year is after all inexcusable...

if Kadri goes in the deal and they are also able to flip Zaitsev, they can pay Trouba

I am sure they have many moving parts this summer

With only 1 year left on the deal, flipping Marleau even if they have to hold back 50% shouldn't be that hard. If Marleau just wasn't horrendous last year, I would totally endorse a Smith for Marleau swap. It make sense. They save some cap room and maybe someone better suited for 4th line duties or an extra D, we gain cap hit with Marleau, but he's done in 1 year.

oh yeah, I would do that for sure

there was that stupid idea a few weeks ago going around that the Rangers would do the Leafs a favor by trading for Marleau, buying him out and taking the 6 mil cap hit, letting him re-sign in Toronto just to gain an asset that I hated

If we are paying Patrick Marleau 6 million dollars he's going to play for us, bottom line

Unless the Devils think Knight is the next Uncle Daddy, I don't see that happening. Beware the DiPietro curse...

in reality I think the Spencer Knight rumblings are going to start with Detroit at 6

very unlikely they take him but they certainly could use him
