I wouldn't want to pass up on drafting Caufield if we had the chance, so I would pass on that. I would do the other 1st we have and Nylander for Trouba. - SABRES 89

Question for you all
What would cause you to consider trading the 7th overall?
The more specificity the better in describing the trigger...don't necessarily need Player names, maybe descriptions of player / position.

A 20-26 year old top line potential guy with multiple 50+ point seasons and/or 25+ goal seasons on a controllable contract that is not over 5-5.5M AAV for no less than 3 years. Has to be able to play guitar at parties and long walks on the bea...

Trouba wants to be a top 10 paid NHL d-man. I don't see him as that good personally. Plus give up assets? No thanks. |

I don't think Trouba is worth 7-8 mill a year but he may get it with the way this market is going. |

Did some research on these so please give it a read but from the previous thread of NHL laughing stock rankings....The obvious of Oilers as the NHL laughing stock is there.
Here are a few others that have their names in the fire.

You can't forget Florida and Arizona. And Carolina and Columbus just pulled themselves out, and Carolina could easily fall back down next year. |

I'd say his value is around 6-6.5, but you need to pay the UFA fee too. |

In this market and some teams like the rangers are open to splurging. He will get his money.
The Sabres should be interested but only if they can move a d contract |

Go on, why.
I meant it as the beginning stages of planning for the selection...which I want to work through with you guys. It was step 1 of several. |

I like that idea. Maybe some additional pieces both ways
If the basis of the off-season was 7 and Risto for Trouba and Cirelli, I would be a happy man. I'll put the chances at 1.76% |

Trouba picked a helluva year to have his break out year then.
Before this past season when he put up 50, he was the 69th defensemen in the NHL in points. Making more than Risto.
This past year was also only the 2nd time in his 6 year career he played more than 65 games.
I still don't trade Risto+ for Trouba. |

Risto and 31 for an extended Trouba at $7m or less, 6 years |
