The real question is "can you fit more Richards in a sack or in your anus ?" - Reveen.

Well it only took them around 50 years to get back to the finals....that’s a pretty high success rate - RatedR80
When you've had 4 of the last 10 1st overall picks, the best player in the world on your roster, and only made the playoffs once since 05-06. I'd argue that is a bigger waste of talent. I think Tippett will get you guys playing competitive again. It has to be a management / coaching / ownership issue at this point. |

Wow, my exact feelings and words since the trade was announced.
Even when most of Oilerville was justifying the trade.

Reading the comments, fans haven't changed much.
I really question where Sean stated that Oilers fans are intelligent. |

If he’s waiting for free agency to pick a team that has a chance at winning the cup, then there’s zero chance that will be Edmonton. Now hometown Calgary...... - K-man25
he's a bandaid and you wont be winning anything until you donkeys fix your goaltending |

It’s been known for years it’s management....horrible decision making in that regard is why the Oilers are where they are

Well I see Puju is a topic of conversation today (well his agent anyways).....I say trade him....there will be enough pressure on this team to perform this year and they certainly don’t need the distraction |

I'm not opposed to either trading him or keeping him, but the former needs to bring back a tangible asset. No Joel Eriksson-Ek or Lawson Crouse as the centerpiece when trading him. |

No if the offers suck then just keep him...he is an RFA after all so what leverage does he really have? His agent took away the leverage of him playing in Europe since he said he will not play anywhere but the NHL

I imagine Tampa could be a viable landing spot given their need for cheaper forward talent and wealth of top-6 forwards. If a deal could be crafted around Puljujarvi+ (maybe Benning) for Miller, that'd be worth pursuing. Imagine they're gonna prefer moving out Palat or Killorn before Miller, though.
If any team could rehabilitate Jesse's potential, it's Tampa.
The only 1-for-1 involving potential for potential that I'd accept would be Jesse for Jost. Hasn't exactly shown any strong offensive game, but has the assets of a top notch 3C and acts as a possible 2C replacement if Nuge moves on. If Colorado can add a potential 2C in the draft (Turcotte, Dach, McMichael, etc) to go along with Bowers, I think they could be intrigued by that. |

Big enough to fit 47 Senators fans Richards,
So, like, a pencil case. |

A positive take surrounding the Broberg matter is regarding Holland's history of trading down.
"Holland traded down in the first round in almost half (5 out of 12) of his drafts, and generally came away with both the better player, and an extra asset. This suggest that he has both a good eye for talent and an awareness of how his peers value the available players.
If he genuinely rates Broberg higher than some of the forwards currently in the consensus top ten then he may be looking to move down a few spots figuring he might as well pick up an extra asset if the guy he likes best is not rated as highly by his peers.
The other possibility with Broberg is that he is one of the Swedish D that makes a late surge up the draft rankings. I remember in the weeks before the 2009 Draft there were suddenly lots of reports that teams loved Oliver Ekman-Larsson, who had been seen as a mid first round guy. And in 2012 Hampus LIndholm had lots of really late buzz (Bob MacKenzie’s final rankings had him 15th. He went 6th)."
Still not my ideal choice and I'm gonna fact check that trading down bit about getting the better player but, if true, that would help mitigate my own displeasure with the pick.
EDIT: While it's not like he got a good player out of every trade down, he certainly did get the better player in most of them. Cholowski and Datsyuk for Chychrun is too early to call but Cholowski has trended well to catch up to Chychrun, Mantha and Bertuzzi for Mueller is dominant win, Puempel for Jurco and Oullett is a clear win, Landon Ferraro and Andrej Nestrasil for the pick that was Carter Ashton is a win despite no real NHL value coming of it and Emmerton and Matthias from the pick that became Chris Summers was also a win. |

If they know who they want and can trade down to get him and can get draft picks or an asset then I’m all for it....personally my pick would be Tomasino |

I heard this trade proposal and it came from someone who says they are an Oilers fan
Puju, Nurse, Bouchard, 2019 1st and a 2020 1st for Taylor Hall
Like what in the actual (frank) Shero would do that in a heartbeat and laugh his ass off while doing so |

Had a Rangers fan propose both of the following deals:
8 and Puljujarvi for 20, 58, Buchnevich, Nanestnikov and Vesey
OR
8 for Buchnevich and 20
I would do either and honestly might even add a bit to either if it was needed to get it done. Buchnevich is high on my list of targets. |

Goaltending is not the reason we lost to Colorado. We got other problems. Besides I hear Smiths name linked to edmonton and Talbots to the Flames. Fuk wouldn’t that be funny. |

Wow. No one knows Hall at all. The guy was a little bit of a party guy in his youth. He liked to drink and it rubbed some people wrong. He wasn't a cancer and he loved the city, the team and the players. Eberle was the one with the poor attitude and work ethic.
Hall wants back. He has said it and the Oilers know it. He has said he is willing to sign at a discount to come back to Edmonton. This won't be huge but it will be something. I would think they could get him for 7-8 on a long term deal. Oilers need wingers and one of the best WANTS to play in Edmonton. More than we can say about most of the other top wingers in the game. |
