A center could play on the wing or they could trade one of them (Danault, most likely).

I wouldn't trade Danault.

One year ago, we had the centre depth of a pee-wee C team.

Now we don't need a star centre?

I'm not buying this.

Sure there are more glaring needs but adding a player of that caliber will always help.

If they can sign him and find some serious help on D, I'm all for it

In that 12 months they've added Domi, Kotkaniemi and Suzuki, Poehling also took some big steps in that time

And were you not part of the crowd shooting down the idea of acquiring Kessel? He's a player of that caliber, only better... they always help, right?

That's not the point. He's the kind of player you want on your team and he's starting to hit his prime.

I don't remember taking part of a conversation about Kessel. He's a good player and depending on the price, could be very interesting.

But after seeing the man eat 2 poutines with bacon and hotdogs in them at an afterparty, I can confirm to you the man does NOT make healthy choices.

I know he speaks French so you want to trade him but it's just not the right thing to do.

Him being French has nothing to do with it, you think if Bergeron was a Hab I'd suggest he gets traded?

That's a no by the way

I like Danault, really effective 3rd line C, but that job looks like it will belong to a younger, bigger and probably better Poehling

I think KK, Poehling and Danault could be the 3 centres for the Habs in a few years.

If Domi repeats at C this year, you move him to the wing? For Danault?

Poehling is just turning Pro.

Danault is currently in his prime.

Once Poehling has 2-3 years in the NHL, Danault's contract will be up.

This isn't a coincidence.

Yes, don't see why he couldn't do a good job on the wing as well.

I still hope down the line we will have a Peca - Mcshane one-two punch down the center

I agree Domi is probably going to end up on the wing, Poehling also could it's him or Suzuki. Could see Suzuki becoming Poehling's center

So let Danault walk as a UFA or trade him as a rental for a bag of chips and 3rd round pick in a few years instead of trying to plan ahead and include him in a package for a D in the next 12 months while, like you said, in his prime?

And for the record, I'm not saying you are wrong in any way

Think they'll play Suzuki on the RW. We'll see how they perform anyway.
