Yeah a guy with 89 goals over the last three seasons would be terrible

Casey as a 3C would not be outrageous. It is about adding goals regardless of what position carries the load.

I have always liked L'il Joe and just for his leadership skills alone, a three year deal would be worth it. He is tough as nails and plays the game the way a few Islanders need to learn; (cough) Bailey! I don't see him leaving SJS, but if he does, I'd want him in an Isles jersey! Ben, it is so good to have a writer blogging here for the Islanders. Haven't had one since Dan was here for a drink of coffee.

35 years old. NO!!!!!!!! We already have under contract Boychuk, Ladd, Filppula, Komarov not to mention guys in their low 30's or soon to be such as Martin, Clutterbuck etc.. The Isles need to get younger and cheaper so they can go after big time UFA. Need to stop the band-aid solution mentality. The Isles need top end scoring talent. Spend 7-10M on 1-2 players and then start dumping the tweeners and have some ELC guys.

I would consider trading Bailey if team needed more cap space or obtained player/players that have better potential
