Cozens wasn't that impressive at the U18 Worlds. That could be a reason. - KMFDMLight
He will go in the top 10 - some team will draft for need at center and will like his size and background - like Edmonton. |

When he makes the entry play and he is damn good on entries, he really has a sound calm surgeon like way of separating and making scoring plays happen against other JUNIOR players. - wiz1901
I bet we take Cozens. Time to finally take a forward who will play mean at least sometimes. Consistency effort is hard to measure if you don't know what is going on with the player. The team needs someone resembling a Hossa or just an abrasive fast skill guy. Not sure there is a duplicate of Hossa. Cozens or Dach is the best bet if that is what you crave.
There appears to be a question if Byram is projected as good enough in his own end. Which may have some truth to it. If you love this kid then you have to decide if you think his defense is really going to be a stumbling block..Your scouts job and a sharp GM make the final determination.
Craig Button. What a farce. His opinion is NOT based on grunt work as in studying tape and noticing any improvement over a period - of -time. He uses other people list then talks to a few scouts and such. Bob MacKenzie is the same way. Proman at the SCORE is a "wanna be." The proven most accurate view is from wiz.
Btw i have been meaning to ask him if he invented the term "bubble but" (LOL) in describing a players tools for maintaining puck control along boards in a scrum. The term may be linked to football?
Anyway i too buy into the trust Kelly. I would be excited although a tad surprised if we take Byram. I would be elated if the Finn fell to us. Hughes guarding optimistic. Hoping Cozens is the correct choice.
I am split on whether to trade Gus. I do not believe he is traded now. Bowman needs him to help the team win. Rocky would acceot a good showing under innovative Colliton even if they miss playoffs. We should accept that Bowman loves the great skill that a Gus and a Boqvust brings. Until Boqvist is ready maybe Gus stays. It is just the thought to draft someone i like 10. 15 and maybe reach for the goaltender
But it is not Gus i am particularly wanting to trade. He just is the obvious guy if indeed you pick uo another first round |

He won't make past Kings is my bet. He has the Kings type all over him. Edmonton would be my pick for a team trading out of the top ten IF a team were to do it. Still put that at less than a 10% percent of happening. |

Nah. The Hawks are picking one of these three. Turcotte, Byram or Zegras. |

I am guessing that if Cozens not to Chicago, then both La and Edm are looking hard at either Cozens or Caufield. The Russian Pod guy is the wild card for each team. I also am curious if Byram might go to Edm. But Holland knows they took Nurse and he is not going to ever be a #1 pair. Is Byram the same way? Decisions! |

Maybe. So hard to guess. I like Zegras actually might be a better choice than Turcotte. Who knows about Byram. We just have to trust Kelly. If we take the Russian.....all this contemplation for naught and everyone happy if we find the.Finn drops to us? |

Sutherland must have been informed of the Blues radio announcer's remark that he had officiated in eight of Boston's previous playoff games and the Bruins won all eight. |

He's just paying them back for the goal he gave the Stars in game 6 to tie the game, blocking Perron's wrap around and kicking it out front to Zuccarello.
Yikes the officiating has been so bad this year. So bad. |

Doesn’t this happen every draft? One or two guys jump or drop for no apparent reason right before the draft? I would love to see an actual scout’s reaction to these rankings. - Chunk
That nails it right there, don’t pay to much attention to these wannabes. |

If the Kings are willing to trade 5 and 22 for 3 I do that in a heartbeat. IMO the separation between 3-5 is minimal, if any at all, and if you are able to package Gus with 22 to move up even further (maybe even to someone like Edmonton to get back into the top 10) do it!
If the Kings won’t do that trade hold it unless you get blown away with a first and top 4 controllable D. Draft Byram and let the cream rise to the top and trade the rest for picks or controlled veterans who can contribute now.
Toews and Kane have 4-5 years left to be serviceable... Keith and Seabs... not so much. Keep the window open, fill the holes that open up first- I fully expect to be back in the playoffs next year. BB is the BPA don’t overthink it... if someone wants to trade up it’s for him- take him and trade from abundance! |

If you want two forwards
Or if you want a forward or the goaltender mid first no matter whom you took at #5,
Certainly your ideas are worth chasing.
I see your thinking on the value Gus holds
And you might be correct
Then too how badly does Bowman want the player(s) possibly available at #3? Is a trade conditional if Kakko does NOT fall to #3? Hughes?
Bowman might have more options than Trubinsky does?
Does he call an audible?
We shall see |

Listen to The Rink podcast to hear the pro con discussion which is basicly most time used between choosing Byram or Cozens. Bill wiz is the guest of John Jaeckel and rink editors or moderator. Actually they each give input. The entire first round is covered.
The rink staff of whatever 12 editors? Choose Byram. You think that was wiz choice? |

Meatloaf song: two out of three ain t bad. A one hit wonder from early 8o's or thereabouts.
Darth Kane: you can have two out of three: caufield and Caufield. But there is not a third. Two out of three ain t bad
I am asking breadman to pass along a link for that song if you don't recall it. But you can utube it too. It is not a bad song; sort of an unique song. |

Missed call for sure. But, the Bruins were only down by 2 with 9:30 left to play. They had their chance and Blue it.
Edit: And if any team should be aware of how quickly 2 goals can be scored it's the Bruins. |

Don’t care for either team but I hate this Blues team less than this Bruins team. I’d rather watch their entire team skate the Cup than a weasel like Marchand for even a second...but there’s still one or two games left to play. |

I’m so tormented by this final, I can’t even bring myself to watch. Normally I can at least somewhat get behind one team over the other, but picking between my least favorite team of all time, and a team in a city that needs no more championships for a while and containing two of the all-time D-bags in NHL history is more than I can take.
(frank) both of these teams. Is a career ending injury or two too much to ask out of this series? |
