This team can't keep the puck out of their own end.

I fully recognize Callahan makes too much money. But he's still useful in a defensive role. Again, I'm trading for him only if we make the trade similar to the Teravainen trade.

- TheSabresTaco

I would take Callahan back if you're getting a good young piece with him.

He can play a defensive role for a year and you have a player to build with.

I would not want to spend money on Simmonds

My pause for Simmonds would be his term and maybe salary demands. At least with Cally, it's only one year, and if you want him back for a few years, his cap will be greatly decreased to fit his role, which, let's be honest, doesn't exist here today.
- TheSabresTaco

I'd only go 1 year or 2 max (even that would be worrisome) on Simmonds, which is probably not a competitive offer on the UFA market

If you want to see a player that literally offers nothing, here ya go.

There’s a reason he’s only playing 11 mins a night.

It’s because he’s not good at playing hockey anymore.

- dadeadhead

That's false. He has a role and he clearly plays it well.

He doesn't even have the 'playoff hero' tag to back him up. His market should be weak, and if it's not, good (frank)ing luck to the team he goes to.

let's play name the coaches:

ron "garden glove" Rolston who had more of an understanding of zippers than nhl hockey

ted Nolan--who had nothing to work with in 2014-15 and was given less after the trade deadline

dan Bylsma--a obstinate coach with an eastern conference background given a western conference style team...

phil Housley--dolt

- Michael Pachla

I'm tired of blaming coaches when the same players are doing the same things.

I’m not sure I would.

I not interested in helping a team in my division get out of cap jail.

Again I want zero to do with either player.

I’d go after Brett Connolly instead, same type player, and shouldn’t break the bank. In saying that he is a UFA and I’m guessing some GM will over pay for him al la Clarkson.

If by role you mean oft injured then you are correct. He’s a bum and has been for the last 4 yrs.

You want to bring him in fine have at.

I have zero interest in $15 million dollar 4th line.

Term is more important than the salary itself. Callahan at one year won't kill you. That being said, there are probably cheaper and better options.

Callahan for a year for a guy that can be a 2nd pairing guy or a potential top 6 winger?

I would totally take that

It’ll kill my eyes to have to watch it.......

I people want to help a team out of cap jail, call Vegas and do what’s needed to bring in Tuch.

I would "help" Tampa if they're really going after Karlsson...

Because I don't think he fits what they really need

Can and potential are key words.

We have enough of that here already.

And a line of Sobotka Okposo and Girgensons was that much better?

Botts needs to make playoffs or show major improvement. You can’t have another bad contract tie up your cap this year. Even if he has 1 year left.

The Sabres have too many bad contracts / wasted money to take on another

If said player comes in and plays well on the 3rd line and gives this team 3 solid lines as opposed to just 1 from last year then it improves the team

A 1 year bad contract isn't the worst thing out there

It's the Okposo's of the world he needs to avoid

If it helps the sabres get a guy like Cirelli, you take the deal imo. There's more than potential there. He's 21, just exited his first full season and had 19g, 20a. The sabres would obviously be sending something their way. But that's the type of return you want. Living with Callahan on the 4th line or in the pressbox for 1 season isn't that big of a deal

If this team had more quality prospects it would be easier to trade with teams in cap hell

Bingo.

Now what hasn’t been mentioned in this convo is if you can shed one or two of these then sure I guess making a move of Callahan plus works.

I'm taking a survey.

What kind of salads do you think are best for summer consumption? Mayonnaise based salad, or vinegar based salad? Are the best salads made of vegetables, beans, pasta or fruit?

And in light of your answers to that, rank the following:

COLE SLAW
MAC SALAD
POTATO SALAD
THREE BEAN SALAD
FRUIT SALAD
AMBROSIA
SEVEN LAYER SALAD
COLUMBIA'S 1905 SALAD
WALDORF SALAD
CORN SALAD
