It's cute you think Tanev is a top 4 - VANTEL
I don’t judge dmen just based off of points and hits so yeah, we’ll probably never see eye to eye on dmen lol
Again, a lot of Leafs fans can’t wait to get rid of Zaitsev and they watch him play more than we do |

Tanev has played 155 of 246 games in the last 3 years 6 goals 33 points. - VANTEL
So replacing him with a #6 dman with lots of term & money is the answer?
I'm guessing there is a better solution. I'd rather watch a couple of our prospects stumble & flounder than be stuck with another of Benning's god awful NHL dman choices, all of which have been a disaster thus far. |

I know this is a hockey forum, and some of the younger guys wouldnt care, but I just walked out of the ultrasound and my newest kid measures above the 50% percentile and at 5.5 lbs @ 33 weeks. I'm ecstatic! - Codes1087
He'll probably be managing an Orange Julius one day. |

In another year or 2 some of the defense prospects should be getting serious minutes on the big club. I can wait until then instead of taking steps backwards trying to speed up the process. - Marwood
I agree that in two years Canucks will have some Dmen ready and I also think that 4 .5 mil for a bottom pair Dman won't be as bad as today.
I bet Hutton if he went to arbitration would get close to 4 now .

I am saying Zaitsev has more value because he can dress for games and actually play even if he plays poorly.
Tanev has a hotel suite in the press box . Who has more value a guy who can play or a guy who can't . - VANTEL
That depends on what you mean by "a guy who can play".
My definition of "a guy who can play" is someone that is effective when they are in the lineup, vs (a guy who can dress) for someone that isn't effective.
I certainly don't want Z's contract hindering youth development for the next 5 years. I'd much rather have a guy who misses 5-10 games at a time that allows for people to come in, get their feet wet and learn. |

I commend your optimism, good sir
The thought of that pairing makes me shudder - Nucker101
It’s where i would slot in Z looking ahead. Our D is better than the Leafs by a little bit at least. That’s not saying much when both teams D are not impressive lol. Give our D the Leafs F’s & they would be better easily. |

If he really was top 4 RHD don't you think he would have had better offers and been gone by now?
I agree with Don I don't see Tanevs career as a long one. |

I'm not sure what that has to do with trading Tanev for Zaisf*ck? |

I agree that he’s going to have a rough decline which is why I’d be okay with trading him, but not for a #5 dman getting paid 4M+ dollars long-term.
I don’t think Benning is looking to trade him for a mid/late 2nd round pick which is probably what’s being offered. You think that Benning is calling teams trying to dump Tanev with his job on the line? |

he should be 5 or 6 then maybe he doesn't get injured as much. |

Leafs fans challenge us on who can eat their own better 😂😂
Every year somebody gets the shaft. Nylander for holding out & before it was Gardiner. Many moons ago Sundin for not waiving. |

It's Tanev's fault that the Canucks suck. |

Do you know that they are not? I have heard a few people say there was some interest . We will find out in 3 weeks if there is or not. |

I would agree if we had more RHD prospects with legit upside. Atm that’s only just begun & a work in progress. |

To bring it back to hockey , you need to develop in the right environment.
Both my girls born a week late weighing 9+ pounds. Both were breastfed, helping with the immune system. Although getting sick was always a little stressful, they both had weight to lose.
I've been very fortunate. |
