He’s wrong, a lot. He spends more time explaining post draft why he didn’t see things the way he really should have. - Pacificgem
I don't think he normally does a mock draft. I know he has a separate list of his prospect rankings, which are all over the place, but this was some mix of conversations to make a guess of how the results would go. Its been interesting to see the variances between "experts" |

Worst part is he wouldn’t admit he was wrong about Elias. Doubled down a year later - CanuckDon
He doubled down a year later, and then walked it all back about 2 months into the season |

This. The one thing is that there should be a high quality winger there, especially if broberg or soderstrom get picked by Holland (I think this is a no-brainer). July 1 Holland brings in Kronwall to steady the backend. Anyway, which wingers fall there is a total crapshoot. I think Boldy might, love to see him picked. - neem55
I'd be happy with Boldy from what I've seen/read. Caufield is the one that still gives me concerns, as I am skeptical that a lot of the positive reports I have read are overcompensating for these guys missing out on Debrincat |

I don't see him as a miss, but I see better fits on d and the wing to compliment what we have. It's time to add size to the top 6 or more skill on D at this point IMO. |

These guys are all close in ability and skill so it comes down to character and jb really values character and it appears he is happy with the character of this group, we will get a good player at 10. |

There's a pretty big difference between Boldy and Dach or Turcotte/ Zegras or Caufield/Newhook. You've got Power Forwards, Playmakers and All out offensive guys. While I do agree they all have skill, saying the first ones have more scoring potential than Newhook is not very true. But then others bring a much more complete game. So then it becomes what does this team really need? I think playmaker and Power forwards myself, as much as I personally really like Newhook. That being said, if JB really likes one of the swedes I won't complain. There's a good chance a few of these USDP guys are riding coat tails a bit IMO. I really like Dach and Boldy. I like the idea of drafting D though too. Seems to change every day the more I look |

Dach would be a dream. Size, IQ and hands 😍. What a nice playmaking complimentary player to our top 6. |

He was a beast in the playoffs, bull in a china shop a lot of the time. That's where he caught my eye. Hard to not think some team before us wasn't also big on that performance. I just don't see him sliding. |

Trevor Zegras. u18 highlights.
Very good passer from the outside. He goes around everyone and through no lanes. Not sure the type I'd want over Dach or Boldy or McMichael.
Will Scouch said McMichael "just knows how to play offence the right way" |

The heavier version of Petey No worries about weight there |

Thanks Carol
I appreciate how you include and interact with your readers. I haven’t spent much time investigating the draft this year. I tend to follow players once in the system instead, although there has definitely been some interesting discussion in these recent threads |

I would love for Dach to fall. Pipe dream though. He would be my pick at 10 if there. |

The Vees have a winning tradition and are good at developing players. |

McMicheal is a stretch to got top 15 let alone top10. Got a fair amount of rough around the edges. |

After Hughes & Kakko it will be all over the map on the next 7 going. Byram won’t get past Detroit is one certainty of mine. Size & speed will be in high demand. That’s 3 so far i see that will be gone. C’s will dominate the next picks with one more D going.
My rankings 1-10 barring trades are as follows:
NJD Hughes
NYR Kakko
Chicago Turcotte home boy seems the decider
AV’s Zegras for skill/need
LA Byram
Detroit Dach need a C to compliment Larkin
Buffalo Cozens speed/size
Oilers Soderstrom for D need & reaching
Anaheim Newhook a Getzlaf replacement
Canucks have wingers to choose from & don’t reach for D. In order my choices:
Boldy
Podkolzin
Krebs
Lavoie
BOLDY it is
