Are you guys actually talking embellishment? Have you ever had your leg kicked out from underneath you from behind... On Skates... On Ice...

That is a penalty. Plain and simple.. A play the NHL has been trying to get rid of.

- Mahewman

Yes, it's a penalty. 100 percent.

And it's also an embellishment penalty.

I've played a few games of shinny in my life.

Never kicked my foot higher than a Rockette due to a slew foot.

I thought the hit on Krug was worse, honestly. That, to me, was the worst non-call of the game.

Attempted low bridge.

The officiating across every series has been poor. Unacceptable in cases as the hand pass or Vegas. Every ref who has worked this post season should be fired.

That being said, The Bruins needed to find ways to win. Real champions power through bad officiating. Whining about it makes you a loser, a Leafs fan...Same thing.

- glove_was_stuck

Been saying a version of this for years. My version of the latter is that teams have to win regardless of officiating. It's like MMA and boxing with the concept of not leaving it in the judges hands.

Sometimes that's easier. Sometimes it's harder but you have to try to play in a way where officiating has less control over the outcome because your play is deciding it more.

I still can't believe the level to which officiating has deteriorated this post-season.

Did you hear Rupp last night calling out Marchand on NHL network? I couldn't believe he was doing it and that they kept it going but he was speaking the truth imho.

Missed calls happen in every sport and balance themselves out over time. This did not cost the Bruins the game. A goalie standing on his head was the reason for the loss.

Actually, the more I see it, the more it looks like a hip check. Now given Marchand's past, I don't know if he intended to hit him lower, but the contact is the hips, not the knees. This is coming from a Marchand hater.

Both teams didn't get away with murder last night. 2 headshots plus that trip were missed, it's inexcusable.

I hate the narrative that because a team got away with a bad call before that now they don't get to complain... fack outta here to all those people.

Overall the reffing is atrocious in these playoffs. Numerous games decided by the reffing, numerous injuries caused... it's a bad look for the league.

- MrBeanTown

No argument there. It's too bad. Let's see how they respond in game 6.

Quit crying. Should have been offsetting minors for tripping and embellishment. Bruins have been the benefactors of MANY calls in their favour

Blues won because they’re better. Not because of the refs

I will say, it’s pretty sweet listening to Bruins fans whine about the refs after weeks of them telling everyone else to stop whining about the refs....

Sure. We all see different things.
I didn't see a dive from 55.
What I did see, is what I think Kelly saw.
25 riding Bozie into 55, thus causing the "trip/slewfoot).
That's not what actually happened, but that's what I first saw.

The league needs to address the officiating big time. I mean as a Leafs fan even I side with Bruins fans on this one. It's one thing to miss a call because you didn't see it. But to be starring at the the infraction while it happens and not make the call is a total joke. Helen Keller could of made that call.

It was tripping

It was embellishment

It should have been called on both or not at all. Hat tip to the refs for letting the boys play it out.

Your goaler was excellent last night, but I think in part it's because your team is making him look good.

The Blues are absolutely controlling the front of the net.

I said it the entire series between Boston and Carolina that it seems like the officials were trained by Vince McMahon. The officiating has been exceptionally bad this entire postseason. I haven't watched a single series that hasn't been impacted by it. The league needs to do a better job recruiting, training and retaining (better compensation) quality officials. The story needs to be about game play and not the officiating.

Or, from Kelly's viewpoint, it looked like Carlo was riding Bozie into Noel.
Ticky tacky, I know, but how else could it have been missed unless he chose not to call it?
Sutherland is probably the 2nd best ref in the game.
I give him the benefit of the doubt.

Bruins shouldn't complain. What's that saying, "What goes around, comes around" or how about "Karma's a B!tch" the Bruins got a taste of what it has been like to be every team that has played them this playoffs. It's nice to see them get a taste of their own medicine for a change.
P.S. it was a trip but was clearly embellished.

Interesting perspective.

3 pps for the broons vs. 1 for the blues.

would have been 4-1, except defemale dog scored on a delayed call.

poor brewns, refs always favor the other team!

Lowest Penalized Team in the Playoffs. Gotta stick with the narrative.

Butch is starting to come off a bit sour grapes, cry babyish. Just get your team ready to play.

That was my original view as well I thought bozak was taken into the back of 55, replayed showed that was not the case.

But the irony of alot (not all) of bruins fans complaining after the missed call after spending 3 rounds telling other teams to "stop complaining about refs" is delicious to everyone else.

Basically this. Plus the past years of playoffs where the Bruins have more leeway with calls, doesn’t endear people to a blown call going the other way. I think most non-Boston people would say throughout the playoffs this year Boston has got the much better end of the reffing stick on the nightly basis. So to that...

Imagine if that happened in overtime, and the game is over and your opponent now has the lead in the series because of it and there's no review and the referees just all skate to the Zamboni gate and leave the ice and that's that.

How horrible would that be?

- bcallaway

Exactly,
But of course most Bruins fans I knwo are losing their poop.
I on the other hand,am loving it..
I am not a fan of St.Louis but I literally despise Backes and am not a big fan of the Bruins so yeah...screw the Bruins
