it alleviates the logjam the Rangers have with young defenseman (one that needs a new contract) gives the backup job to Shestyrokin and moves the Rangers up to a premier pick - jimbro83
I think you are still missing the change I made.
Your original offer is dog poop. |

The log jam is on the left side though. I don’t mind moving up but not giving up TonyD to do it. Fox is a great prospect but hasn’t played a single NHL game, Shattenkirk is worse than Hamirlik and Rykov is a bit away from the NHL. |

it's pretty amazing the rapid ascent of Tony D in everyone's minds
I'd trade him in the right deal, but I'd just just about anyone in the right deal |

I’m not saying he’s untouchable, but RHD are probably our our weakest point depth wise. Doesn’t make sense to trade from a weakness to add let’s say Zegras and create even more of log jam. That’s also not to say we shouldn’t try and move up, just maybe with different pieces. |

Buch, Skjei etc. Swap Skjei with TonyD and I would do that deal. |

really the only reason I brought up Tony D was because detroit fan brought up Yzerman and Yzerman drafted Tony D, didn't really think more beyond it than that |

Way to go, you created a 2 page argument about trading a player for no reason |

Yea this is nuts....28 picks in 11 days. I hope all the GMs have picks ready quick.
Also what if a big trade happens before the draft, Jan is going to need to post about that stuff.
Going to be busy blog season |

it's tough call, probably, I definitely like Zegras, it really depends on how the draft is going
I've said before, I am going to be calling for the Rangers to trade up the whole goddamn draft |

I don't hate it, but it does seem like a lot upfront. Think about it, you can still get a really good player at 20, plus Buch, plus a dart throw at 58.
I think it depends on how close you think the this team is. If you think we're in the playoff hunt now, why give up on Buch? If you think we're 3+ years away, you can sustain the lag of getting Zegras.
Maybe instead of 58 I'd try to see if I can cough up something later and then use both seconds to try and sneak back into the first round. But this is a good proposal.
Look at you, learning how these trade proposals work |

well no chance of that, draft is June 21st and the window to talk to UFA's doesn't start until June 28th

Lets not be naive here. You and I both know that JD spoke to Panarin and his agent at length while still with Columbus and he has to have a STRONG idea what they are thinking, what their $$$ numbers are etc. He can't come out and publicly state this to the press, but he has to KNOW what the Rangers odds are. |

Wouldn’t it behoove the teams to agree with drafting AFTER July 1st? I guess it’s a CBA thing? Probably more likely to see players traded

IF we sign Panarin losing Buch isn’t that big a deal. If we miss on Panarin Buch is more important. You have to assume one of Chytil/Andersson/Howden get moved to wing. I think Howden is the perfect 3C, Chytil can play on the wing but is Andersson ready to be a 2C? I don’t think so yet but we can start the season with Strome as the 2C and see how things go. |
