We need a 2C and reshuffle our defense.

I highly doubt botts can pull off another skinner like trade.

I am sure we will try and sign Duchene. Scouted Ottawa a bunch of times before the deadline.

What about moving Reinhart to center and get a RW and a LW for the top 6?

I think what people should be upset with, is why he dogged it for the better part of three years then plays like he’s never played before once he leaves.

And don’t give me the atmosphere/coaching/teammate angle.

He was on pace for 90 points when the Blues were 30th.

Where was that in Buffalo? I saw it once every 10 games

- sbroads24

He couldn't handle the leadership role and in STL he doesn't need to be a leader?

As well as atmosphere/coaching/teammates who lost their love for ROR?

Reinhart actually being able to play the position he was drafted to play would be an absolute game changer for this franchise. Then imagine in 2020-2021 when we add a 7th OA pick to that mix.

Yes but he’s not going to downgrade a player
- gerbe75pts

He's not going to call him a cornerstone, or whatever it was that he called him, either.

Not sure.

I just have to laugh how ROR shoulders 0% of the blame for some people.

Jeff Skinner comes here, starts with a rookie as his center first 5 games, then is put with Eichel, is the main reason we won 10 in a row considering he had I believe 3 GWG in that stretch, is moved away from Eichel after injuries etc, never complains never gets depressed, and ends up with a career season.

Same poor coaching, same losing culture etc.

O’Reilly wanted to leave. He managed to weasel his way out. Good for him

That's why I want a center in this draft. Our center depth is atrocious. I would be willing to give Reinhart another shot at 2C. If it doesn't work you have players that could go up and own in the lineup to make it work.

A future center group of Eichel, Sam, Mitts and Zegras looks pretty damn good.

I know. It’s everyone else’s fault but his.

It’s only the Avalaches fault it didn’t work in Colorado, not O’Reilly’s

They have tried the whole Sam at 2C thing before. It failed multiple times.

If you knew that Sam could 100% step in at 2C and be good. I would be all for it

Then draft caufield at 7

It would be perfect.

No no. Its only his fault. Your dislike of O'Reilly is ridiculous.

I will find it all the more funny when he is awarded the Conn Smythe.

You really think Boston doesn’t have a chance, considering they’ve been the better team?

There is a distinct difference in putting out a number in a general dollar value of a contract when most people thought the same then actually calling it like buffalo 39.

You and 89 put out vague info and pat yourselfs on the back all the time. That is not calling things. Saying Botterill is looking to upgrade then a trade is made is not calling anything. Everyone knows that stuff. Saying skinner was looking for 8.5 to 9.5 is not calling anything, again everyone knew that and had the same “info” as you.

It’s one thing to say it didn’t work here.

It’s another thing - and an utterly bs thing - to say, as you did, that he gave no effort for the three years he was here

Botterill swapped ROR for Skinner.

They weren’t paying two guys big $$ going into their 30’s. Skinner is younger and just as valuable.

Now I’ll admit, with the Blues going as far it really sucks we didn’t get a mid-round 1st.

Don’t sign Duchene

- sbroads24

Kind of wrong though. Skinner will be way older at end of his contract the what oreilly will be at end of his. We technically got older long term

Does it matter? O'Reilly has lead them to one game away from a Stanley Cup win. Even if he loses, it pretty much nullifies every and anything you have said about him.

I have my opinion and seeing how he never listens to coaches or changes his way how he prepares he’s done in my opinion

Will see what happens

By one year.

O’Reilly will be 33
Skinner will be 34

Skinner will play all of next year at 27

O’Reilly will be 29 in February

It’s more expensive m, yes

Up until game 3 he had 1 goal in 16 games prior.

Tarasenko had 8 goals in the past 8 games and Schwartz was on fire.

Yes. O’Reilly led them

Here's a question for everyone.

Who remembers the last top player the Sabres re-signed as a UFA to a long term (over 6 years) contract?

Because I can tell you, it was a very long time ago.

I then go look at all the stats.

Let the O'Reilly hate go, trading him away was one of the worst moves in Franchise history. Stop defending it. You lose credible, which you shouldn't, since most of your other takes are on point.

If you are botts and maybe have 1 or 2 year left to prove yourself as a GM. That is a big roll of the dice to try same at center.

We didn’t replace berglund at center last year and everything went out of wack.

I rather get a 2C and try Sam at center and maybe mitts on the wing. See how that works.

Article yesterday on who would get the Conn Smythe if the Blues won.

It’s literally only Buffalo crybabies who think ROR would be the unanimous winner
