I have my opinion and seeing how he never listens to coaches or changes his way how he prepares he’s done in my opinion

Will see what happens

I'm not saying I disagree with you (I also happen to think his hockey IQ is lacking), I was just pointing out what Ralphie boy said.

It’s one thing to say it didn’t work here.

It’s another thing - and an utterly bs thing - to say, as you did, that he gave no effort for the three years he was here

Yep. You beat me to it. That was crazy-talk.

So today
Skinner-Eichel-Reinhart
Olofsson-?-?
Sheary-Mitts-Nylander/Thompson
ERod-?-Okposo

Dahlin-?
McCabe-Montour
Pilut-Risto

Bogo, Scandella, Nelson, Hunwick, Sobotka, Smith, Girgs, Larsson, Wilson

It's only people here and on Facebook that think the Sabres should trade Risto. Many experts believe it would be a mistake to trade him. When fans complain about hockey IQ it tends to show that they have very little.

IMO they should let Larsson adn Girgensons walk. Bury Hunwick (or 7th man) and Sobotka in the AHL. And take late round picks for Scandella and Bogosian.

Would be a true retool of the bottom 6 and bottom pairing if they could do that.

Hunwick is probably a starter on day 1 with Bogo and Pilut hurt

Risto Dahlin
McCabe Montour

Then you have Scandella Hunwick and Nelson as the last 3 to fill the bottom pairing

They need to sign someone. I am in the minority. Go all out for Erik Karlsson.

In the 4 years prior to Skinner’s arrival, Sabres in 5 on 5 scoring finished 28th twice, 29th and dead last. In Skinner’s first season they moved up to 21st.

Skinner needs to be added to.

Karlsson is damaged goods. If the Sabres do a physical and everything checks out after his groin surgery. I would be tempted.

When he was healthy during playoffs ,... he was his old self and great. I can’t deny that

Girgs and Larsson had 85% Dzone starts and consistantly flipped the ice. They are not the problem on this team. IMO.

There is a distinct difference in putting out a number in a general dollar value of a contract when most people thought the same then actually calling it like buffalo 39.

You and 89 put out vague info and pat yourselfs on the back all the time. That is not calling things. Saying Botterill is looking to upgrade then a trade is made is not calling anything. Everyone knows that stuff. Saying skinner was looking for 8.5 to 9.5 is not calling anything, again everyone knew that and had the same “info” as you.

- Alex the Great

Who the fck cares about this- whether they’re real insiders or not, it’s better than nothing. 89 and homie were saying 9m per for months when the rest of us thought 8ish, so cheers to them. 39 called the signing an hour before mckenzie. So cheers to him, especially after the chycerin (spelling) debacle

Here's a question for everyone.

Who remembers the last top player the Sabres re-signed as a UFA to a long term (over 6 years) contract?

Because I can tell you, it was a very long time ago.

Has he gotten any better after year 3 or stayed the same ?

If the answer is no then why would he change now

Yes you are in the minority

If he would sign a 2 or 3 year deal go for it

But I have serious concerns about his body holding up especially for 7 years

It's like paying players big money who only produce on the PP is a bad idea...

I don't understand the logic in people wanting Karlsson and trading Risto. Apparently we should overpay for a dman that has a injury history, is getting old and doesn't play defense. I guess we need to have a lot of offensive pressure since all of the dmen will need 50-60% Ozone starts to be effective.

Pass on EK and sign someone like Benn or Borowiecki or trade for someone like Gudas.

I think it was one nagging injury. If we land Karlsson, I really feel like it would change the perception of this franchise.

Trade Scandella and Bogosian, insert Karlsson and Borgen/Nelson. Basically the same cap, and such a major improvement.

Not really.
Homie and 89 both were out in front of the rest, including the insiders in the media in indicating the cost was centering at $9m and 8 year term. they were very much earlier and more specific.

I do agree that 39 had the timing and details of the signing nailed before any one else.

Really talking about 2 different things
-expected contract value and term
-timing of the signing

Kruger did well with Edmonton's PP

Our PP last year was not so great

I would like to see an improvement in the PP for sure but our play 5 on 5 is where we win or lose in the long run

Up until game 3 he had 1 goal in 16 games prior.

Tarasenko had 8 goals in the past 8 games and Schwartz was on fire.

Yes. O’Reilly led them

Right now my favorite thing about the Skinner contract is the huge overpayment.

Looks at Auston Matthews contract, 11.6 million a year for 73 points. Yes 9 million for 63 is so much worse.

I did a capfriendly roster with both William and Erik Karlsson

The problem is finding someone to take Scandella and Bogo and then long term moving Okposo so you can keep Dahlin and Reinhart

Really it's that Okposo contract that kills this team as Sobotka, Bogo and Scandella all come off the books after next season

I love how humble 39 is.

It isnt like Bob McKenzie said that term and dollar amount two days ago....
