With $20M in cap space you just took on $10.2M. And you create a huge hole at RD. So go get a TJ Brodie and now you add another $4.6 to it. Don't like. Bad cap management.

Who could've predicted that "best dressed" award would go to Van Morrison and not Neil Diamond? And also "best impersonation of a Rockette"?

I forgot about him. I suspect you might be right. Even if he said yes i suspect we would have to sweeten the pot by throwing in something like Nylander.

No way do the penguins take Okposo in any deal involving Kessel unless rhino is going with him

Send Kessle a variety pack of Theodore's on The Lake...he'll waive it for sure.

That's a little absurd. Pittsburgh's biggest problem is that their cupboard is thin after years of trading away assets. We would essentially be giving them two low-grade first rounds picks.

Okposo, #31 and Nylander for Kessel. Who says no (other than Kessel)?

For those who are interested in the Mock Draft,
a Trade Proposal I received.
(Btw, I tried moving up into 3, 4, for Turcotte, 5, and 6 ... for Cozens if avail...no takers)
So far Highes, Kakko, Byram off the Board... Avs on the clock

To Buffalo:
2020 1st (unprotected)
*2021 1st (included if Barrie does not resign with Buffalo)
16th overall
Barrie
Kaut

To Colorado

7th OA
31st OA (STL pick)

My thought is to counter 30/31 with Nylander,
Then try to package those 2 to move up

Pitt needs some good young talented players. Like Mid 20s and really to roll.

Pittsburgh would say no. They are trying to clear cap. They acquire more in that trade, and six million of it is dead weight.

Yeah, that's probably right. We would have to take more another semi-bad contract and I don't think we want to do that. We don't need another player guy like Sheary.

Kessel would cost pick 31, Thompson and STL 2021 2nd. Maybe even more than that

I wouldn't do it. Trades in mock drafts are a little strange. So, if you were to say yes, at next year's HB mock draft, the Avs don't have a 1st round pick?

And making them take Okposo which essentially negates one of the assets given, giving them Okposo nylander and a later first isn’t much for a guy who put up at least 80 points in his last two seasons.
Also nylander has to have basically no value at this point as well, so Pittsburgh gets the 30/31 pick a top ten pick bordering on bust status and an albatross contract for another four years and they give up a top six winger, I don’t see any value here for the penguins.

Last Waltz is to Scorcese what Straight Story is to David Lynch.

Two totally different films but they very much are opposite of what made each of the directors famous.
