Could of phail lousley's coaching style may have held Sam back? Maybe his system or the players young age and small frame?

It's possible. Sam's failed at center for two different coaches. However, he's still developing. Can he finally do it? If he can carry a line on the RW (He can) then maybe there's hope. I'm just skeptical.

Some people want to add all these scrubs like their is no salary cap to worry about. You want Simmonds? Over pay him for one year then be done. No long term contracts to old players

I want Simmonds. For sure. Any GM worth his weight in salt can find ways to circumvent the cap. They do it all the time. Ideally 3 years at 3.5, probably 4 for Buffalo, wouldn’t get anyone in trouble anyways. Big guy that can score and smash people. Team could use a player like that. Simmer’s got 2 good years left in the tank. Mark it down.

I listened to a few shows on XM today, including Barnaby, nobody had anything nice to say about what we gave Skinner. It was a joke, Sabres damned if the do and damned if they don't.

They cheered for him as he exited, as a sign of respect. The cheer during the game was heat of the moment and the raptors scoring off a fast break.

From Ryan Stimson’s Skinner article in the Athletic.

This is kinda surprising

“Skinner’s shot rate in 2019 was the lowest it’s been (over two shots per 60 minutes fewer than the 2018 season) over the last six seasons. Skinner is a player you want shooting close to 19 or 20 times per 60 minutes, not the 16 he put up last season. Part of that is Eichel is a bit of a puck hog and doesn’t always shoot from ideal locations. But I think that’s a best case scenario for his scoring if he’s playing with Eichel and/or Reinhart on a regular basis.”

I almost want to see a line of Skinner on the wing with a distributor like Reinhart at center.

Skinner needs to shoot. He drives scoring chances and Reinhart creates them for others.
