“Skinner’s shot rate in 2019 was the lowest it’s been (over two shots per 60 minutes fewer than the 2018 season) over the last six seasons. Skinner is a player you want shooting close to 19 or 20 times per 60 minutes, not the 16 he put up last season. Part of that is Eichel is a bit of a puck hog and doesn’t always shoot from ideal locations. But I think that’s a best case scenario for his scoring if he’s playing with Eichel and/or Reinhart on a regular basis.”

I almost want to see a line of Skinner on the wing with a distributor like Reinhart at center.

Skinner needs to shoot. He drives scoring chances and Reinhart creates them for others.

I listened to a few shows on XM today, including Barnaby, nobody had anything nice to say about what we gave Skinner. It was a joke, Sabres damned if the do and damned if they don't.

They're going to look like a "steal" no matter what Marner gets. The NHL's cap is going to go up and those two are going to be at "old" numbers.

IMO they should go after a good 3C via trade like Copp, and create a second line w/Mitts and Skinner or Sam and Skinner that can be an offensive threat.

They played good together. By my count Reinhart had primary assists on 8 of Skinner’s goals. Too bad Reinhart couldn’t work out at center.

This idea is really picking up steam again. It's been a long time since it totally flopped, so this time around should definitely be different.

But the last time Sam got his “shot” at Center was for like 8 games,
with Pouliot & Griffith as his wingers

And even though they didn’t score much (not a surprise with his wingers),
I do feel like they had pretty good Corsi numbers
(for what that’s worth)

Maybe with some wingers that can actually score,
you’d see more production
