I'd ship out both bozo goalies we have, I have no faith in either.
- SABRES 89

I would look at moving Ullmark if you can get something decent for him while he still has potential

Hutton is fine as a 30 start back up, plus a good locker room guy

The problem is finding a guy to hold down the fort until Luukkonen is ready

You should listen to some Kanye, he has a lot of faith and likes to share it.

What kind of value do you put on compher?

Maybe 30oa and nylander?

- Boss34

He's replaceable. Not sure I'm using a 1st round pick to get him, by himself.

Would you rather have Carrier over Ullmark

If Kane was 5-6 a year, that's different.
- SABRES 89

His decline will come just like the power forwards ahead of him. He'll be good for another 2, maybe 3 years.

No

But that doesn't mean I am sold on keeping Ullmark either

Thinking he has any value or thinking he is a top 6 forward?

He has value, enough even from posters on here to trade for another hopeful top 6 player.

A 20 year old skilled winger on the cheap and finally looks ready to compete.

Keep Skunk draft Byram, remember Okposo is going to pot 25 bingos next season. Beady said so.

Instead of we should not have or, why didn't we, and let's get rid of, I would love to understand:

What would you have done if Skinner did not sign? AND, no one knows if he would have signed for $8M in November or earlier. He would have gotten $9M on the open market. I am sure that Botts and the agent understand the market. What would you suggest doing to replace him? I can imagine that all those who said no to cost and term would have another year of Sheary at the top.

Let's get rid of Risto. Ok, what do you do to replace him? That d-man, according to everyone on here is not on the roster right now. Trade for Trouba? Same guy.

And, ROR IS NOT walking through that door and his trade means zero except to the masses who wish to b!tch. Have fun living in the past. Move on - what do we do about the 2C? And I still don't have any idea why anyone wants Duchene.

While the goalies we have aren’t elite .... the Sabres defense was terrible at supporting them.

How many tap in pass across goals did they let in where a Sabres d was no where to be found.

When the defense was playing well .... the goaltending was good.

I like JT, obviously. His grit is needed on this soft team, he could also make Asplund available in a trade package. I doubt Botts would trade him away as currently constructed.
Personally, I think 30 + Nylander would be an 9verpayment...coming from a guy who has low expectations from Nylander.

-this board recognizes the slight (and necessary) overpayment for Skinner. We'd rather keep him for more than lose him for nothing
-Risto is the team's best trade chip to get better. In your scenario, if Risto is traded for Trouba, the Sabres win. Trouba is largely a better defenseman, and they are not the same.
-I try to move on every day. I keep a journal of how many days we have gone without moving on.
-The value Duchene will provide is much less than Skinner, and his contract will be extremely troublesome. However, 2C must be addressed.

McCabe for Sikura and Dahlstom? Not a fan of that at all. We need goals

I tried to just tweak the offer instead of just wash it away completely. I like the future for both players.

Ranking the Sabres Problems:

1. Offensive Depth
2. Defensive Depth
3. #2C (Mitts definitely isn't there yet)
4. #2D (Considering Dahlin as a #1 a little prematurely)
5. Goaltending

I'll admit I know nothing about either, but 0 goals in 38 games for a 24 year old forward is not promising to me

Keep in mind that he was a 6th round pick in 2014. His future isn't written yet. But yeah it'd be nice to see a few more points in there. I'm sure he starts in the NHL next season.

I am fine with the overpayment for Skinner

I would trade Risto for a top 6 winger/center and a prospect while taking a cap dump (looking at you Tampa)

I would also look to add Zucker, if the rumors are true he can be gotten on the cheap (Nylander and a 2nd)

I would look at moving the St. Louis first in a package to Vegas who needs to move salary in a package for Miller and Haula

I would also look at signing Stalman and roll out a lineup of something like:

Skinner Eichel Zucker
Oloffson JT Miller Reinhart
E-Rod Mitts Sheary
Wilson Haula Callahan

Dahlin Miller
McCabe Montour
Stalman Bogo
Nelson
