We just have a 55 point 27 goal scorer $9M a year so do the math.

Good god dude

Trade O’Reilly, and don’t sign Skinner...

But constantly stuck up for Tage Thompson & your “dream signing” this year was Brock Nelson

I really don’t know what else to say???

I think that’s kinda low.

I don’t think Kessel is very good anymore

- sbroads24

You may not but for not being very good he still managed to be a ppg player........ again.

Out pointed Zucker by almost double.

I’d say that’s Pittsburgh selling low.

And I’m not a Kessel guy.

He’s a one to two year solution for a team.

I think he’s a good player but his shot totals and overall impacts have been on a decline for a few years.

He won’t rack up the assists here like he did on Pitt

Trading O’Reilly will be the best move for this team in the long run. I think it’s unfair to poop on Thompson after one season, he still has time to figure it out. Brock Nelson would have been a great 3C for 5-5.5M, Isles gave him $6M.

Skinner got a full NMC, 8 years instead of 5-6, and $9M instead of $7.5M-8M and so help me God if he turns out to be the anchor that Marleau was on the leafs these past two seasons for the last 3-4 years of his contract that would be even worse then the return we got for ROR.

Skinner needs to produce at a 35+ pace for goals during the first 4 years, and probably closer to 40 for that contract to serve the Sabres decently well. In the out years, a gradual decline to say 22G at the end would be hoped for, IMO.
If he goes south of that production, we will here about it loud and clear.
Can't wait for a few posters to show up boasting and making it frustrating in the troughs between his streaks.

If Skinner has 6 great seasons and is an "anchor" for his last two, so be it.

8 years is the price of doing business.

And you're paying a 3C $5-5.5 million, but you won't pay a 1LW $9? I don't get it.

His season by season goal totals are going to fluctuate, there's no getting around that. Hopefully they're improving the team enough to where it won't be such a big deal on the "down" years.

Idc about what he does the first 3 seasons, it’s the last 5 that are really going to matter in the grand scheme of things. Do you see this team winning a cup in the next two years realistically speaking ? I can possibly see it in year 3 of Skinner’s deal and that is optimistic.

Mitts is playing 3C, on ELC for $925 though right?
Maybe I missed something.

How the (frank) can you compare Marleau and his 3 year contract at 37 that's up this year and 3 million less than Skinner's new 8 year contract that he signed at 27?

Not even (frank)ing close.

Ok, but if not him, who? Goal scorers aren't falling off trees.

I think he's potting a 30+ average for many years.

He's a great skater, keeps himself in great shape, seems to have found another gear w Jack, and NOW is 100% invested in this team, city, etc.

Sure but I’d rather have Zucker who’s still going to be good in 2-3 years.

Kessel is a tire fire on D and his offense (while still very good) is going to dip pretty far soon IMO.

If I could correctly post those RAPM charts, it shows Kessel’s wasn’t as good as his point totals indicate last year

I'm in agreement. Zucker works here. I like the player and he'd be a nice LW behind Skins.

How did the Tyler Bozak signing work out for the Blues ? Might only be $4.2M but he’s been pretty effective in the middle 6 no ? Mitts gets insulated for a full season and grabs the 2C role by the horns in 2020-2021. Nelson could of been on PK1 and could of given us a 3rd line capable of scoring goals as he has averaged 21.18 goals per every 82 games he’s played........

3.25 for a year of a legit stopgap #2C? Why not? Throw Minny a bone and see if they let him go cheap.

Could you imagine if Tage makes the team and puts up 30 points next year ? I'd love to see the reaction of this board. So many people will come out of hiding saying they believed in him from the beginning.

It would be like when everyone started the Scandella hatefest mid way through this year after Gerbe and I said he should have been gone the second the lottery balls bounced in our favour.

He’s making the team. It’s 100% certain. He’s a guy they traded for who’s too good for the A.

It’s sink or swim next year. I think he swims
