Is Steve Tasker an idiot?

He proposed an 18 games schedule where players can only play 16 games and have to sit out 2.
When challenged his response.

“What’s the difference between a guy sitting out because he slaps his wife in the face or he is forced because of the schedule.”

It’s in the rules.

That show is so awful.

Welp. I wonder who will resign from Carolina next year.

I'm assuming it'll be Jeff Daniels.

Interested to hear who they pick as their other assistant coach (or two). It sounds like Smith is staying.

And Krueger said they received applications from some "unexpected" candidates. That's intriguing.

"Sabres 365. Hmm, interesting name. Very unexpected"

Maybe you can be the new "eye in the sky", taking over from Hajt.

He's the assistant GM.

He's going nowhere.

(seriously, 89-1-1 when leading after two periods with him as coach in Charlotte? Ridiculous.)

Right.

People pay a premium to attend sporting events. Benching the best players reduces the entertainment.

I guess one way to combat that is to say "player x will be sitting this game, and we have reduced ticket prices for said game"

So what if you have more than one star? Why does said star deserve to sit while the other players need to play? Who says that starter is willing to sit? Every single pro athlete has spent a good portion of their lives being, or trying to be, the best. They won't settle for being benched just cause.

Do season ticket holders get a rebate when a team sits a star?

Not in the NBA, they don't. I can't say there will be zero impact, but NBA teams have pretty much towed a line of "Do you want us to be strongest when it really matters, or not?" Eventually, that would be the NHL's message too. Eventually, it would be something everyone gets used to, and even accepted as an inevitability.

I happened to hear that as well. He's horrible at making a good argument for it, but I think the idea itself has merit. Fans WOULD love 2 more games.

All Tasker had to say was "it's like baseball where you bought a ticket and Vlad Jr. has a rest day, or basketball where curry has a rest game"

- jcragcrumple

Weekly Sports betting would disappear on the NFL, IMO.

What place is going to put a line up in n a game not knowing who is starting at QB?

No, she is the owner, the GM and the coach. She also plays left field for the A's.

Dawn is a skating coach, who was actually blamed for a portion of our problems on this very website.

Hey. It’s the Sabres offseason. Any news from a “source” we will gladly take.

Who would we all consider a blockbuster trade though?

Phil ??
Malkin?

Probly a younger player with term?

- Sabretooth9

No names were given. The person with the Sabres told him that he will want to renew his tickets. All he said was a big trade with multiple teams involving 7 or so players. Sounds extremely far fetched but the person really has zero reason to want to tell me this so that’s why it is interesting to me.

One of things Tasker proposed is that QBs would be exempt. Or 2-3 players per team.

People would still do fantasy either way. it's the same as fantasy basketball which has teams sit players

I think teams would sit stars on the road most likely.

That would be the most fair way
