The playoff structure is fine. They need to eliminate the breaks between series. A series should start 1 day after the game 7 of the previous series. Your break should be earned by sweeping opponents.

Tanner acts like this is new and unique to 2019. Rewind 10 years...Malkin instigates a fight in the final moments of a game. Should have been automatic suspension. But Bettman and the NHL office look the other way allowing Malkin to play game 7. Or how Wings won game 7 of the conference finals and had several guys injured. Instead of starting the finals a few days later, the NHL gives the Wings one day off and immediately starts the Finals with 2 games in 2 nights. Stuff happens. One year the Wings and Blues finished 1-2 in the league but we're in the same division so played in round 2. Stuff happens. Always has. But when it happens to the Leafs it's suddenly a big deal.

I agree on the playoffs. NHL needs to go back to reseeding by conference so you get some variation on playoff matchups Staying in the division is boring they already play those teams way more than they should and then in the playoffs it is more of the same
