Yeah I guess I am having an old man moment. But this whole leafs paying higher than market value for players, when said players stand to make millions more just by being in this market is absurd. Nylander shouldn't be making more than pastrnak, and marner certainly shouldn't be making more than mcdavid, or even close to it. Neither should Matthews. And if they are the type of players to hold their teams hostage or even threaten signing an offer sheet...then good riddance.

It's a problem every team needs to face. Agents have found a major loophole to exploit and hold more leverage with young superstars coming off their ELC.

As I mentioned before, the league should look at significantly changing the compensation package to reflect the new contract ceiling players are making.

We're going to see a mega-lockout in 2022. Book it.

I personally feel a disconnect with these rfa millenials. The big contract is supposed to come at 24 and 25...not 21. I won't lie, I'm very sour with this sense of entitlement that the marners and Matthews seem to have. Mcdavid got his big payday after 2 art toss trophies and a hart. What have our 2 prized leafs done besides win a Calder. And if marner truly wants to go and kiss off all that endorsement money because his ego wants to be the highest payed winger...well he can go (frank) himself.

I'm not going to lie, I started to really love this team, their youth and enthusiasm etc. I found it hard to pick a favourite player.

But now I'm starting to view this team with contempt. A bunch of immature little shots that care little about winning championships and more about their own personal accomplishments. I may change my mind again, but if this marner poop is true...(frank) him. 11.5m can buy a lot of other valuable assets.

i've accepted the fact that the leafs will never win again. i don't mind them having the worst drought so boston not winning is top priority
