I won't get into the specifics of the offer but I do believe Canucks are going to make a bang. I think Panarin and Zucker would be enough and that Benning delivered on the top 6 upgrade. I will say I do think Canucks have positioned themselves this year to add two top 6 forwards and to change the D .

By the time EP and QH are ready for contracts Tanev Schaller Spooner Sutter and Baertschi will all be off the books plus the cap increase, Canucks should be close to 22 mil in cap space.

You guys seem intent on speeding up the rebuild and making the playoffs next year. ONE first round pick for one of the top 15? wingers in the league, signed for 8 years sounds like a pretty good deal.

Personally, I want the team to suck again and get gradually less suckey by continuing to draft well, and push the old fat slow dogs out.

i'm fine with that as well, however acquiring Panarin & Zucker and drafting well isn't a bad thing. They also still need to address the D issue which is a playoff prerequisite.

That’s good. Nylander is what 7.5? Think 14.5 is enough for ep and qh? Nay lad. Nay. Not the time to be trading first rounders. Bubble team this year, serious playoff threat the next. Panarin would give us an outside shot this year imo

If he somehow regains a step he could actually contribute. Question remains, what asset are they giving up? How about puljarvi and a swap of our picks? Then we add Lucic, puljarvi and Zegras. Decent start to the summer !

It’s not an ideal situation, taking on Lucic, however, Benning backed himself into a corner with the way he allowed Eriksson’s agent to structure his contract. If the sweetener is ok then it’s really a wash to bring him on and get rid of LE.
