Some people in here want him.

I have almost complete certainty that contract will look regretful the second it's signed

I did, and while I put absolute certainty in Ek's roomers, I have read that one elsewhere as well

He's usually bang on, I don't see any reason to doubt him now

Accuracy and doubt aside, it's not something I think would be wise for the Habs to do. Feels like a boat anchor waiting to happen

I really don't see them signing Duchene or Gardiner

To a degree I agree. They have money to spend and haven't had a lot of recent success. Still doesn't necessarily mean it's a good idea

I'd be ok with Eberle for 3 years @ 5, mostly because hes a right handed shot and he can score... but he'll be looking for 6 years and that's a big no! Gardiner will be a bad one, don't really want Duchene and Karlsson is probably the biggest risk of them all

That's not the point. They will most likely have talks with many agents players. Where it leads is another story.

Absolutely... and with what's available in free agency, the trade market might be a better option

Eberle's making $6m now, I doubt UFA status brings him a lower aav. Gardiner, beyond his defensive gaffs, may have real back issues and scares me a lot from a health standpoint. Duchene is either a C which is becoming redundant or a LW which is becoming redundant, Habs need scoring but not sure he's what I'd want. Karlsson is awesome and his health needs to be cleared, but if cleared, signing him is a franchise changing move in my opinion

In a way but we really have no clue who is in fact "available"

And I don't think there's any doubt that if their goal is to take a step forward into the post season this year, they need to add a D and a pretty good one

Talking with agent of player X does not mean you will sign player x.

Do you guys know what's a rumor?

I'm not sure. But it's full of people telling Ek he's full of poop when player x does not sign with a team he did mention. So they don't get what's a rumor.
