Would Montresl do a trade with Chicago, Ryan Poehler for defenseman Nicolas Beaudin? Beaudin is an offensive minded defenseman drafted with the 27th pick in last year's draft. He played for Drummondville last year and will play in the AHL this season. He would be more NHL ready than any of the draftees proposed by Karine.

I don’t see Poehling being moved, the Habs now seem committed to building through thr draft and wouldnt have sign him burning a year of contract year last season if he wasnt part of the long term plan. Besides, i’ve never been a fan of trading for all Quebecers available, the Montreal bubble is even worst for them it seems... and when it takes them time to adjust, the “fans” all get on their case in no time...

At the draft, your team makes a trade...and T.J. Brodie is now a Hab. Don't know what comes back from you, but there is your "D" upgrade...

I appreciate your thoughts on this. I read a couple of articles from last summer saying Montreal was high on Beaudin and was hoping to draft him. Thought I would throw out this trade proposal since the Hawks would like to add a top young center to their prospect list and have several defenseman in their pipeline. Seemed plausible considering the number of centers in the Canadiens system - Poehling. Suzuki, Kotkaniemi et al.

Poehling is panning out extremely well, it's a tough sell for us to want to trade him. What can you tell us about Beaudin; I don't know anything about him?
