I said #2OA and #20OA - TheUltimateJet
So you actually mean #2 and #20, right?
Still, don't think I would do your proposed deal. |

So Ehlers and Connor have been crap on his lines? - TheUltimateJet
Ehlers, not so much.
Connor, yes.
None of those 3 can play together |

Yea, would be nice if the Jets could actually out-shoot some team some night. But I exaggerate.
The TLC line may not score a ton of goals, they are a prevent line. But a damn good one. Besides not sure how many goals one expects from a shut-down line? Many nights they create more opportunities than 2nd line, but they do have a problem finishing.
Vesalainen hasn't proven anything yet in the NHL but I agree with you he has the highest ceiling of any future Jet. Potential!
Love Matthieu Perreault, but due to cap reasons, someone has to go - likely Perreault or Little, and Little has one more year of a NMC. IMO Perreault is gone.
Really hoping that they can find a way to keep Tyler, hate to be without him. But if they can't sign him by draft day or preferably before, they should trade his rights. Agree with you that Chiarot's and Tanev's rights are worth little if anything - but maybe Tanev's - grahamzky
If we’re concerned about cap, Kulikov and Myers are 10mil right there.
I’d sooner hang on to Perreault and wait to Seattle Little |

Agree with almost all points.
- Time to bring the d more into the attack - this should include Niku who I expect to have an expanded role this year
- Surely they've learned when the d rushes, one forward has to cover so limited (or none) 3-on-2's
- Yes Connor - 7 years
- the problem (a good one) of having too many young guys like Roslovic, Vesalainen, Appleton, is like you say, ice time. Maybe one has to go - the jury is still out on Vesalainen. But injuries - or trades - will happen, and some young guns will get their chance sooner or later
- TLC line - 100% - why ever split them up. Tanev needs to be re-signed
- Laine - ???
- Perrault - a victim of the cap, but good problem to have
- Wouldn't you think if the Jets were not attempting to re-sign Myers, Tanev and Chiarot they would be trading their rights for draft choices? - grahamzky
Tanev only, I repeat only plays well with Copp and Lowry, he will not be worth what he is gets as a UFA. There is no reason to believe appleton, Roslovic or Vesalainen are not better cheaper options
I like the TLC line but I also really like Copp at center, when he was with Roslovic and Perreault they played better on those three games than our top line
With Ehlers name popping up in rumours and Connors not, this suggests to me that Ehlers has to be one of the players with ruffled feathers. Why else would we consider trading Ehlers over Connor? Ehlers produces more points per minute played while playing with lesser talent, is superior to Connor in every single anylitics measurable and after Connor signs, Ehlers will also be on the cheaper contract.

Nothing in that deal is worth Trouba, let alone Laine. So, no - Rexypoo
Rexy you are wrong on this one. Zib straight up for Trouba (a guy wanting out) absolutely works and Laine for Kakko and 20th overall also makes some sense.
But!!! The rangers wouldn’t touch this trade with a ten foot pole. So it’s absolutely not worth discussing |
|
|
|
This is false. I have it on good authority that Trouba's decision to not want to play in Winnipeg or Canada for that matter has nothing to do with Winnipeg or Canada. The reason for him not wanting to play in Canada is very personal to Trouba. Its not something I will discuss further on this board. - TheUltimateJet
The report/rumour is, His dad has a record and can not travel to Canada, I have no issue bringing it up. |

I like Perreault but am also expecting a big drop off for him this year so have no problem with us parting ways
I can see a Kulikov buyout
I don’t see anyone giving us anything but expired Zellers rewards points for the rights to Myers, Chairot or Tanev |

I also believe we probably did talk to Myers about a contract and probably offered either 3 years at 5 mil per or 4 years at 4 mil per and since there are already leaked reports of multiple teams interested in Myers and him potentially getting 6x6, of course he would wait and see. As he should, can’t blame the guy for taking 20 million more elsewhere. I will though laugh at whatever team gives him that.
It’s truly amazing how teams make these mistakes every single year. |

If a team is willing to give him 6 x 6 - wouldn't you think they might want to give up a draft pick to talk to him before others?
There is chatter on other sites about acquiring Myers so interest is apparently there.
Tanev and Chiarot? Tanev "might" get a late pick, Chiarot, definitely no. |

Teams will be willing to spend more on Duchene, Panarin, Bobrovsky and others and yet no one has trade for their rights, it doesn’t happen as often as you’d think. That one week talking window changed that a lot. Chevy did well getting that 5th for Hayes |

The main question is, who can Laine play with? If its just Scheifele and Wheeler, than that totally proves the point that he's one dimensional. |

It tickles my fancy, but I also have to dig my heels in. Zib isn’t proven yet. Not completely. |

I actually don’t want him with Wheeler.
Wheeler needs to be away from Scheifele.
Laine can play with the following centres:
Scheifele
Copp
Lowry
Possible Appleton, with the right LW.
He cannot play with:
Little
Little
Hendricks
Little again
If you believe Wheeler is still top level, it makes no sense to put your two best playmakers together while your elite sniper sticks with a declining shooter. |

-wasn't Laine's month of November with Lowry?
-why does no one discuss Connor's points away from Shief and wheels?
-why does no one look at wheels points away from shief?
-why does no one look at wheels and shief's power play points away from laine?
-98% of this team was worse last year in overall play, why do so many in here point to one player, like he is to blame for it all? |

Think you will see more moves after tonight's game. The NHL doesn't like taking the spotlight away from their signature game.
Yes, agree Chevy did well with Hayes - just like getting a birthday present with no birthday.
Still, if the Jets weren't interesting in re-signing Myers - a draft choice in return for his rights. There's interest out there apparently. I want Myers, the Jets want Myers, and Myers seemingly likes the Jets - marriage made in heaven. |

agree, heard them discuss this on 1290 today ( the potential for increased activity after tonight)
I suppose we could get a 6th or 7th for myers rights. |

The problem with this marriage is that it will fail. Myers isn’t top 4 material, and he’s fast approaching the age cliff |

Don’t you dare say it. You know as well as I do that the 17/18 Jets curb stomp both teams.
You know who you are, if it’s you. |

IMO Tyler Myers is under-rated. He's top four on most teams.
But, yes, he is almost 30. However many d-men peak at around that age. But
no stats to back that up.
Still, hope he remains a Jet! |

A: He is not. He may be deployed top 4, but he’s scarcely above replacement level.
B: Nobody peaks at 30. Never have. Maybe in 1950, when experience outweighed developed skill and training was lax |

if true then we can rule out Toronto. Any team that trades for him will want potential to sign long term. |

Trouba to PHI for #11 and Gudas, then send #11, Roslovic and Stanley to EDM for RNH..... |

You’re trading more than you got for Trouba for a player worse than Little.
And that’s ignoring the warped under-value on the Trouba deal |
