Should have specified I meant what mange looked like in his draft year. That said, he was looking great in the corners by the end of the year and into the playoffs this year too.

I'm definitely not about trading a top four defenseman and a late first to move up to aquire a pick that will at best be #13(philly who is rumoured to be shopping the pick). Especially in a year where so many good teams lost out early and will be desperate for cheap, high-impact options.

Ek reporting Kreider coming to Calgary - despite the perfect fit that this deal would be, the fact that Ek has reported it means it's for sure not happening.

If Tre pulled off Kreider for Neal, I would hang up my Tkachuk jersey and buy one that has "Tre is GOD" on it. And I'm an athiest...

We have about 17 LHD, definitely don’t need another.

Are the Flames getting rid of Rittich then? A team with Stanley Cup aspirations isn't going into a season with two unproven goalies under 26 with only 110 games between them.

Management are pretty high on Rittch & ready to let him run with it. We're going to need to conserve cap space somewhere. Personally I would rather try to get Talbot.

Personally, I'd rather sit on a fork.
We've seen the stop gap strategy for too long (Johnson, Elliot, Lack, Backstrom)...
I realize the pickings are slim but Cam Talbot is not going to get us to the promised land.

On allot of teams in the NHL, he would be.
Lets be honest ANYONE playing with Gio looks like an All-Star but to say he's an AHL D-man is just wrong.

It's way off, Brodie is easily a top 4. Have to remember Gio just had the best year of his career playing with Brodie. I bet it's Gio's call whether they move Brodie or Hammer...if they move either.

I guess it's hard to make everyone happy on this issue. So if Talbot as an experienced backup is stop gap what do you propose? Hunk then is right, do we trade Rittch? Because we dont have the cap to pay a Bobrovski & the thought of bringing a young guy in like Georgiev & running him with Rittch is criticized as risky for lack of experience. What do you suggest. A cheap deal on Ward? Make a move on Schneider or Quick? Everyone is quick to criticize but there really isnt any simple solutions without a lot of risk attached.

For the sake of cap & asset management, they absolutely need to move one of them. Not give them away because then you may as well keep them. But there is decent value in either player.
