Habs reportedly have interest in Ghost. Do we have any interest in anything they have? My initial thought is "not really".
- hereticpride

Your gut instinct is right. They have certain role players I like but nothing that would cost you Ghost.

would you do it? include a 3/4th rd
- daryl stanley

The 4th maybe. I'd pass on including a 3rd.

Here is something too.

If you left Voracek and van Riemsdyk unprotected, I believe they will be 31 and 32, is the seattle team taking them at the cap hit they have? Voracek will have 3 more years and van Riemsdyk 2.

I think those expansion teams like to have some flexibility early to kind of shape the roster before getting locked in on big money deals.
Just my thought.

I hope fletcher moves voracek right before the draft. On another team it would be a no brainer to keep voracek... so maybe fletch moves him for protected assets and gets a nice little return from a team who will protect V.
There is no point in worrying about the ED until it gets here. Seattle may also take voracek and flip him for strong assets after acquiring him.

Either way we will be alright. For poops and giggles we can all pick who we hope gets taken in the ED?

Maybe Montreal has something the Jets want...a 3-way deal.

Depends on who he moves or for. I think #11 in this draft will be a quality pick. It's a deeper than usual draft from what I've been reading.
If he brings in a top 4 D or a legit 2c he may have to pull the trigger. But frost and Farabee I wouosnt even entertain offer unless it blows me away, which just wont happen. I'd keep them just because their ceiling is extremely high and I believe both will reach close to that ceiling.
I'd love to hang on to our youth and instead overpay in free agency rather than sell or trade A+ prospects.
Trading away future assets is homer-ish to me and I hope those days are done. We are not close enough to complete yet so it would be a bad move

- sILKAsSINASALO

In the end it boils down to the return.

I dont consider trading any of those 3 assets unless your getting a youngish already proven NHL player; who that player is I dont know until you have it presented to you.

Trading away guys for older vets is not the path they need right now. Unless it is a fringe prospect or mid level pick moving out. A non crippling move so to speak.

With the right few moves they are closer than some may think imo.

Maybe splitting hairs but we're the ones doing Toronto a favor after all. I do like Kapenen tho.

I agree with all of this. No way they trade for old guys unless the older vets are game changers. I will roll the dice on our youth otherwise. I can't think of any names in particular of who I would shop our top prospects for but I'm open to discussing these topics during the silly season

Flyers feed suggests the Flyers have been caught lying about Hayes on going talks. Sounds like a trade gone wrong.

The guy from Denver basically admitted in his follow up tweets that he didn’t really have an inside scoop because he sarcastically said they’d probably have an agreement that night. Then he was told of the comments by Fletcher and laughed and said something like “I hate this business”. He has no clue. But why do you care? You don’t want Hayes anyway.

Yea, kind of appears he’s going to the highest bidder. All the spin about past FA’s taking 3 weeks to sign was just that - spin.

Why do I care? What kind of a question is this? I’m a Philadelphia Flyers fan and your response just sounds like someone grasping at straws.

I like that was coming. And the ED pills help that too!

You’re free to think anything you want. I think most of you agree with any decisions made by this organization no matter how stupid and even though they haven’t won anything since the mid 70’s. I apologize for being different though, I tend to think for myself.

I’m waiting with patience for someone to fix this team. Terrible spring.

How’s with you brother?

Riding waves with this team. Miss times like that Boston comeback where it was fun as hell to be a fan.

Were you in the room?

It’s good that they supposedly met today on June 11th, when the deal was made June 3rd. Should we expect an overpayment to be hammered out by the 18th?

When you trade for the rights to a player, shouldn’t the priority of the organization to sign the player as soon as humanly possible? Not one week after the trade is made?

I don’t have any issue with you thinking differently, nor should I have or want any say in how you think. But the information you are giving to complain about something that they still have over 10 days to complete is ridiculous. If you don’t want Hayes, then fine. A lot of people on here don’t. But don’t say it was a stupid trade because he hasn’t signed yet. Give them a chance.

PS- Seravalli just tweeted that Hayes came to Philly to visit today. Don’t know if that will lead to a signing but at least they are trying.

Why does it have to be as soon as humanly possible? It should take however long it needs to hopefully be a good deal for both sides. Be that 2 days or two weeks.
