I don't trust anyone that size who put up monster numbers with the USNTDP. Everything about that program is weird and kind of gross. It screams Harlem Globetrotters.

I mean, he just scored 14 goals in 7 games in the WJC-18, I dont think his talent is just manufactured by being in that program

I'd love the Rangers to trade up and get him, I'd freak basically

Yes it will!

I don't care, but if Kakko turns out to be like Peter Forsberg, that is awesome!

I could settle for that.

based on what? just because he's extremely good at goal scoring?

I’m not going to pretend I’ve watched these kids since they were 15, just based on what I’ve read.

Going back to my comment from yesterday regarding players being smaller:

The one main difference between the two is that DeBrincat has been classified as more “feisty” than Caufield. DeBrincat has already had a couple of fights in the NHL. He also plays with more of a fire and edge than Caufield and likes to be involved in scrums.

Wouldn’t mind a smaller player like DeBrincat, Caufield isn’t my type of player.

7 players on that USA team had over a point per game.

I wouldn't read much into that.

No, I'm just bugging you because you're here.

I don't trust him. At all. Maybe he'll prove me wrong, but I'd stay away personally.

I’ve read them. I’ve also read articles where GM’s are concerned about his size/200 ft game and being a product of playing with Hughes.
You’ve read what you have and like him.
I’ve read what I have and don’t.

Kings need a center... would not have taken caufield 5 you could have traded back to get him and gotten another asset or two in return. Dach, cozens, or zegras at 5

Certainly. They're all good players, but most of them having played together all season gives them a distinct advantage over the others in that tournament.

There's a cumulative effect.

wait, the last 4 highest picks of the Kings have been Kupari, Akil Thomas, Vilardi and Anderson-Dolan, all centers

they haven't picked a wing high in the draft in YEARS

Kupari might be a 2C but might be suited better at wing. Vilardi is a HUGE question mark right now. Thomas is highly regarded but probably no more than a 3C (hoping I’m wrong) and JAD is projected a 3C.

Cozens, Dach, or Zegras are projected 1C air 2C

Wingers are easier to find in trades than C.

Also Centers can be wings

Shouldn't draft based on positional need.

Iafallo. Grundstrom. Luff. Prokhorkin. Rempal. Scherbak. Wagner. Just to name some of the younger ones. Kempe is also better suited on the wing.

Not saying they’ll be 80 point 30G guys but still have wingers in the depth charts.

I remember when Atlanta said the same thing when they took Burmistrov over Tarasenko

then they moved

Think the Kings live like kings and move to Rancho Cucamonga?
