No more Brayden Schenn bullpoop. Anytime you trade a player and that team wins the cup, they won the trade. We kept Chicago. We lifted LA. Don’t be tempted by draft picks. Just make this team better!! - SuperSchennBros
A bit shortsighted, since we don’t know how Frost and Farabee will turn out. |

Their dark blue home jersey to me is the best in the NHL. - Sublime55
For sure, but the alternate powder blues ones from this year are unbeatable imo.
The amount of F bombs is hilarious, NBC execs must be twitching right now. |

Same thing when we traded Richards and Carter....you don’t know if the youngsters you get back will pan out....but when the other team wins the cup, I’m sure their fine with it....lol |

Schenn was also a prospect once and the Flyers were the same inconsistent bunch with Schenn as they were without him. I’m happy for Schenn and I genuinely like him as a player, but he wasn’t exactly a difference maker while he was here either. |

Mike Richards was a bit part on that Kings team and Carter was traded to Columbus first, so there’s that. |

That’s just a dumb statement. Would Schenn have made that much of a difference if he was still here? I doubt it. We won’t know for years if that was a good trade.
It was better for the Blues in the short term but when and if Frost and Farabee are playing for the Flyers we won’t know who benefited more.
Schenn wasn’t exactly a force in the playoffs but played well. Congrats to him and the Blues. |

Unless frost or farabee win a cup with the flyers it’s easy to see who benefited more |

Yes I’m aware...my point is that they were traded for futures....and in the end they went elwewhere and won a cup in short order. Regardless I think the Flyers did great on the trades.....but I’m sure LA doesn’t really care. |

Well, the Blues just went from the basement to SC Champs in the span of a couple of months, so that provides some hope for next year. - Sublime55
They were truly remarkable. I’d like to know if throughout any of the major sports in modern times that a team won the championship that was sitting dead last in the league as late as the blues were |

This is the most typical argument to be having after the Blues win the cup. Never change HB never change. |

I’m trying to understand how you grade that trade though. Richards faded quickly after 2012 and was out of the league a couple of years later. Carter has been a fine player but the Flyers got much more production out of Simmer, Schenn, Couturier, and Voracek in comparison so it really comes down to whether you think the team would’ve been closer keeping Carter and Richards or the guys they got from those trades. |

No, the ultimate goal is winning the cup. Sure we have to wait but right now the Blues are the clear winner. |

If the Flyers are dumb enough to trade Ghost I bet everything I own he is the next ex flyer to win a cup.

Flyers also traded Carter to Columbus. What he did in LA is kind of moot imo. |

There is such a thing as both team benefiting from a trade. |

No way it’s about acquiring draft picks and prospects. That outweighs it all. Actual winning at the nhl level is secondary. |

It’s a dumb statement but blah, blah, blah.
Schenn’s first season with the blues, he has a career high of 70 points. His second he wins a cup. Both years he’s centering the top line. I have news for year, we didn’t know what to do with him. He was a winger most of his time here. Now we expect what? Kevin Hayes to offer the same impact? I’m not trying to be a jerk but we traded away players that could have been good for us, the Flyers, in the prime of their careers.
I wanna win and I’m sick of the excuses, as if we’re doing it right. |
