Meh. I think the two guys are about equal, but one guy just had a great year and is worth something and the other guy just stunk and got traded for nothing. - 1970vintage
lol I realise that. It's just funny how we attach the 'Canadian' Moniker to athletes that weren't born in this country (eg. Donovan Bailey, Ben Johnson, Lennox Lewis etc) because we can't produce top CDN-born athletes in a certain sport. Sure they might be Canadian citizens since they were small children...but doesn't technically mean they ARE 'Canadian'. - LordHumungous
We're a young country, and a tiny one when you consider the amount of space we have. If Canada is your home, you were educated, trained, whatever here and you represent the country well on an international stage you are canadian in my books.
The geographic coordinates of your birth don't determine who you represent
I know we're done with basketball but this morning's headline caught my attention...
"Toronto Raptors president struck officer while trying to reach court after team won NBA title, authorities say"
Charges may be laid. - bloatedmosquito
Masai is the (frank)ing man
Took a franchise stuck in irrelevancy to winning it all. The work he does for the kids in Africa is amazing as well, he actually made the trade for Kawhi Leonard last summer while he was doing charity work in Africa. Man is a legend. '

Then there's this:

Yup. His next contract is going to be huge. Expect NY and L.A. area teams to pursue hard.

you weren't born there but you are an albertan through and through.
it's not where you were born, it's the cultural identity you take on.

Good points just a difference of opinion. Good friend of mine has a half brother from Scotland who moved here when he was 4 and he doesn't 'identify' as Canadian first. he says he's a Scot first and Canadian second which makes a bit more sense to me lol...but again, just how I see it. Is what it is.
I think the start of the overhaul begins this year but will take 2-3 years to complete - VANTEL
It’s already started. Hughes/Woo. Started at the last draft. This summer they one maybe two new guys. Young guys start pushing in. Might take 2-3 to get good/gel, but it will be very different starting this year.

Anyone listen to Benning this morning? Hinting about a move down at the draft?
I did find it funny that he suggested taking BPA and very next sentence well we could move down. - VANTEL
I'm still glowing over the JP Barry interview. I became fully erect when he suggested that it's probably a good idea for Eriksson to find a change of scenery. Everything else has been white noise since then.
