With his concussions he'll be a perfect fit on the Antichambre panel

He's been paid fair market price for his age and career production

If he bounces back it's a pretty good deal. I expected him to get more years and more$ on the market.

Of course every GM would love to sign him at 3.5 for 3 years but this not exactly how it works in real life.

Place your bets. ... who is going to be bought out first?

Karl Alzner or Michael McCarron?

What was wrong with the old York anyways? Was it too white and privileged?

Or they let him sit in Laval for the year, and buy him out next year. Not bad, with all the kids, to have a veteran there to help out. And they are unlikely to use the cap, unless it is to sign another Alzner type contract.

It's probably what's going to happen unless Bergevin pulls a rabbit out of his hat.

I wouldn't worry too much about Mr. Molson ... he's just gonna hike beer prices by another $5.00 at the Bell Centre.

At this point, what difference does it make ... you'll still need a mortgage to buy a round of beer for your friends.

«Buying his deal out on June 15 would offer temporary relief this season — a cap hit of $1.069M — but becomes a crippling $4.194M against the cap in 2020-21 due to a lockout protection that Alzner had designed into his contract where his salary drops significantly that year. Bergevin, being a risk-averse manager who always looks ahead to tomorrow when planning today, would certainly not be prepared to endure such a waste of cap space, even for a year.»

That's why they let him rot for another year in Laval and buy him with 2 years left, unless they can off load him somewhere
