I’ll say it again trading Murray would be the best route to upgrade your roster. Goalies can be replaced easily |

If there's a good hockey trade to be made that's a different story. I'm at least calling Minnesota to see if Rust + a prospect (and it might need to be someone like Addison) gets Zucker.
But Rust's speed, ability to play any wing in any line, and PK ability are all nice so I wouldn't be actively shopping him. - Tojo.
Trading Addison would suck. Probably our only true blue chip prospect, but for Zucker I'd pull the trigger. |

Nah. I wouldn’t trade Addison. I’d put him in the untradeable list. |

Lol wut? That kid hasn’t amounted to poop. If there’s a deal to be had for a proven NHLer to help the Sid/Geno window, you take it. |

But according to you, he's the worst goalie who ever played hockey, so how much do you expected to get. |

This is just me, but I don't put any Pens prospect or that 1st round pick as untradable. Staring at an off-season where they have to sign or replace Schultz, give Murray a huge raise, and have McCann and Simon as RFAs either of whom could get nic raises with a good year. Core is on the wrong side of 30.
Deal still needs to make sense, but to me Zucker is enough of a difference maker at ES he could be Malkin's Guentzel.
And none of our prospects are really blue chip. |

Seemed like a fair market deal. Surprised because Eberle seemed most likely to leave of their UFAs and took a slight paycut before checking the market. |

I never said he was bad. If there is one player though that has some overrated value due to stanley cups it’s not Carter Rowney it’s Matt Murray. I still think that’s still attached to his name and you could get a King’s ransom for him. |

I think Murray is pretty accurately rated but I do agree with your general point that he should be shopped especially with big money likely coming his way next year. |

One year away from having a goalie that can’t steal a series himself like the flower can that makes more than 5 mil. The whole reason they moved on from Fluery. |

Am I the only one who thinks Ghost is way overrated? Not saying I wouldn't make that trade obviously, but still... - Rinosaur
He's Ok. I'd take him over OM in a heartbeat. |

Ghost is definitely better than Maatta and Schultz, but I feel people treat him like he’s this future Norris candidate. |

Goal tending might be overrated, but bad tending will absolutely kill any chance of contending. I'm not Murray's biggest fan, but I'd need somebody with a track record before I'd trade him. |

This is the biggest issue with jumping to ship him out. Goaltending is one of those things you don’t think is that hard to find until you don’t have it.
Murray had a rough go of it for a sec, but he’s young and I equate it to growing pains. While he may have won back to back cups, he was still a rookie.
He rebounded very well this year, was killer down the stretch and not even close to being a factor in why the Pens got ousted.
You’re not just gonna grab some UFA goalie and be good enough to contend. |

It's like pitching in baseball or a QB in football. If you don't have a good one, you have no chance. Like I said, I'm not his biggest fan but show me the options.
It's a dead subject anyway. They won't even consider it. |

It's not. You can't win a Super Bowl with an average QB. Or at least it's fantastically hard to. Average goalies win the Cup/make deep runs all the time. |

How many series from 2010 - 2015 did MAF steal? Here is the simple answer: NONE. Revisionist history again by flower apologist. If he was so great at stealing series the Pens would have won more than one Cup during the time he was the starter here. And yes Murray was the goalie who won it in 16 and if Sully didn't get his butt on the bench in 17, the Sens would have been in the finals.
He really stole that series this year again SJ right? Here is MAF at his best:

In LeBruns latest Athletic piece, he mentions the Jets may be listening on Ehlers to move salary, would you offer Maatta + 2019 1st? Is it enough to get it done? |
