There are a few fan bases wondering the same thing. Supposedly other teams felt they made a "better offer", IDK if there's any truth to that. Maybe 'peg was set on getting back a first round pick for this draft, yet they wouldn't let anyone speak w/Trouba, and maybe get a better offer. IDK if I fault DT for not wanting to give up the 13th pick for what he has to currently consider as a one year rental. After how it was told that Winnipeg wanted a king's ransom for him, it's surprising to see what they actually accepted. Jets fans' reactions must be ranging from disappointed to livid.
Who knows, lol, he might end up here next summer.

I agree, PanthersGoal.

I’m sure there’s there’s tons of things that go on behind closed doors, but it’s just interesting to think that the Panthers need a guy like Trouba and have the 13th overall pick - which is seven picks lower than what NY gave up.

Who even knows if FLA made an offer though, you know? Maybe NY had no desire to do business with the Panthers. Maybe NY has a plan with that 20th pick? Maybe they’re flipping it, etc., etc...There’s just so many possibility’s and things we don’t know.

It’s certainly interesting and I agree with Rats when he said he’s sure there’s a few team’s frustrated today.

It’s just crazy that after all we heard (for so long) about the steep asking price for Trouba and it came down to that...should be interesting to see how these next two weeks go!

Anaheim needs to upgrade their offense, and Lindholm is their best(?) Dman. Why trade him for another Dman and not even address their offense's needs? This trade seems to make no sense at all for Anaheim, unless they see Noel as the real prize

Dale always says he will never trade away the future for a quick fix. So maybe giving up the 13th pick and a prospect for a rental who won’t re sign made him think it’s not the right move. Definitely more story behind this. Dale talon is pretty good with coming out and telling us that they tried but the asking price was to high and so on. So I’m sure we’ll get more insight on this.
