The odds of Joe P signing here are slim and none, the odds of him signing here for under market value are zero IMO - Stripes77
Totally agree
But he’s another Center to hit the market with Duchene, Hayes, etc
That opens up a player to us who could’ve potentially gone somewhere else |

I like the idea of going after a Vegas guy
My hope would be William Karlsson
With Cody Glass coming (2107 top5 pick),
i wonder if they think paying Karlsson long term is the way they wanna build?
Especially if they’re gonna take another run at EK65?
Even without that though,
they still need to dump Cap
I really like the idea of us targeting these Cap strapped teams to get a discount on players that can help us now- and moving forward

It's tradition. He went to the Pen's parade after he was hired here, right? - PrinceChill
He's the greatest GM in Blues history. Revered in that city. Should be leaving Las Vegas with GM of the Year hardware. |

Why? Point had 92 points in 79 games.
Drove offense like a (frank)ing machine
And is 23 years old. |

I'd love Karlsson and Miller from Vegas even taking a cap dump (Reaves?) they don't really have bad players on terrible contracts.
What would it cost though? |

Nashville fleeced Tampa, Ingram had solid AHL numbers. Although word is the player and organization had quite a rift after the deadline. |

Tough to say
Getting Karlsson & Miller would be pricy i think,
even if we take a Cap dump
I think 1 of them plus a dump could be had for a Skinner-like deal though
Why has Miller kept coming up btw?
Is Vegas rumored to be shopping him? |

How much would we have to add to trade Skinner for Eberle? |

Even though he’s on IR,
we could take Clarkson off their hands too
That alleviates some Cap for them too
The way IR was explained to me (idk if this is 100% accurate)...
Clarkson has 1year left at 5.25mil
But say Vegas has only 2mil in Cap room,
so they need to put Clarkson on LTIR
That allows them to go over the Cap by 3.25mil
But... that 3.25mil will hit them next year
So
us taking him off their hands is still a nice benefit since they’re likely to be right up against the Cap this year
Idk that it’s exactly like that?
But i think the rules are something similar |

Huh???
Even at the bigger Cap Hit...
Skinner >>>>>>> Eberle
They would have to add, not us |

Mitts for Point + Cally
Factor in that they get like 13mil in Cap Space
Gives them room to go after EK65
Gotta think it’s doubtful they trade Point...
But if they’re really high on Cirelli like Homie has said,
then Stamkos, Cirelli, Mitts as their centers (let’s Mitts grow into 2C with plenty of talent around him & sheltered matchups)
Plus they get to add a piece to their defense which they desperately need
I don’t think they’d do it,
but it’s an option they’d have to at least consider
Especially bc they need to make moves with their defense- even if it’s not EK65 they bring in |

Right?
I thought he got demoted bc of some kind of disagreement with his coach,
not bc of his play
And they only got a 7th in 2021?
I’d have easily given one of our 6ths this year for him
Can never have too much up & coming goalie talent imo
Even if he doesn’t work out,
Nashville got him for free basically |

Dude the only way to truly evaluate a player is if they are on a mediocre team.
If they’re on a great team, they’re production is minimized.
If they’re on a bad team, it’s excused.

word on the street (read as forum) is he was supposed to be part of a larger trade that never materialized, and ever since then he's gotten the run around and bounced between ECHL and AHL. Maybe it was his coach, or maybe the GM.
I dont know but yeah his play definitely didn't warrant the demotion and I doubt it would have served his development. |

You seriously think he'd produce like that on a mediocre team?
The Lightning scored 36 more goals than the next closest team and 75! more than the average. |

Who knows if he’ll even turn into anything?
