Keeping Skinner and possibly getting Vesey is a win, win in my book. - SABRES 89
I wouldn't mind Vesey, but it doesn't move the needle much in terms of upgrading the top 6 imo |

Skinner better score 35+ every year cause paying a 50 point player $9M a year would be even worse then letting him go for nothing and adding another top 10 pick. - Pegullaville
No more top 10 picks |

Looking at the size of the Blues d-corps, I think we can get away with not having as much size up front as long as we have the size on the backend. Hopefully Borgen and Samuelsson pan out so in a few years our d-corps can look like this:
Dahlin-Borgen
Samuelsson-Montour
Pilut-Risto - Pegullaville
Don't forget Laaksonen and Bryson |

That would be valid if the goals he had a direct cause of letting in on 5 on 5 had more value than the goals he is scoring during a power play.
A goal is a goal. Notable exception is an empty goal. - Mentalorgasm5
He had 17 PPG, not 70. Does 17 over 82 games make up for the fact that for roughly 14 mins a night when he's out on the ice the Jets average 13% fewer unblocked shots and concede 14% more? |

If you're gonna start talking about the shots he is responsible for letting on net. Let's not talk about his goals |

Can I ask in what way? Not meant to be argumentative
McGinn was never a good goal scorer.
Vesey is. |

The other issue is that he scores all his PP goals in Eichel's slot. Just a weird fit all around in my book.

3LW, 20 goal ceiling. McGinn has 2 20 goal seasons, and I could see Vesey doing the same |

Yeah I’d swap Risto for him and hopefully give him like a 7.5 mil bridge deal.
But other than that I’m not interested in the overpayment |

Fair enough. Also the one's that disappear when he's on the ice. Checking that shot map again, WPG doesn't sniff the slot when he's on the ice. I can live with him being a PP scoring specialist if the shots start going the right way. But as is WPG got 288 minutes of good at the cost of 1074 minutes of "what the (frank) are you doing". |

Yeah you'd have to shuffle some players around and risk them not being able to adjust |

Gotcha.
I think Vesey has a higher ceiling on offense.
Over the past three years he has more EV goals than
Reinhart
O’Reilly
William Nylander
His most common centers have been David Deharnais and Brett Howden.
With a decent center he has 25 goal potential IMO |

The only problem I have with acquiring him, he is one dimensional, and if he is going to cost 10 million or even 8 for that matter. He isnt worth it. |

Agreed, you'd have to convince him and his agent that a bridge deal is in his best interest. I mean, if he gets his scoring touch back it probably is. |
