Well each one since they only have a year left would only carry 1 additional year of a cap hit, but unless there is a blockbuster in the making or a UFA that is going to get HUGE money (please no) then there is no reason to do it.

On that list the only one that would interest me in the slightest is our good ole friend Andrej Sekera

Dahlin if he puts up 50 this season and 60 the year after he is going to get a HUGE contract will be the biggest in franchise history like 8 years $90 million

Olofsson if he pots 20 he is a RFA so he gets a bridge deal

Mitts needs to show something this year and Nelson is the same

Maybe it is just my most wishful thinking but I see Dahlin on that OEL contract path. 60 points at the age of 20-21? That's a big aspiration. His points flow can only go so far unless the Sabres build something solid around him.

Botts will have a hard time making meaningful trades because we just don't have tradeable assets to do any damage. Seriously, what team would want Scandella, Larry, Girgs and the rest of these bums.

If we are worried about going over the cap for dahlin Reinhart etc. remember .... it’s easy to dump off players and get under. The hawks have done it a few times. Yes, it cost them. But it’s not impossible to do.
