Sell off for Scandella and Bogosians for 7ths. A team would take that. And would open 9 million up - Mentalorgasm5
I agree but that's easier said then done, maybe Scandella but Bogo would be a hard sell. |

Outside of Ristolainen and the 31st pick I’m not giving up much else of substance for a guy you’re going to overpay
But the goals are the goals - OneKaneOneCup
For Laine they are giving up 7 OA and Reinhart. You aren't getting him for 31 and who many people here are crying to ditch.
Laine was rated the 2nd best prospect in the last 5 years by Corey Pronman in his recent Top 31 prospects in the last 5 years article in The Athletic behind only McDavid.
Man getting him and having him score again would be huge but It will take a lot to get him. |

I know I'm in the minority, but I'll take Reinhart over Laine

I’m happy that botts seems to be working the phone pretty hard. I am all for adding talent.
I’ll take vesey over girgs. Larson Sobotka and our bottom 6 from last year. - Sabretooth9
He know's he can't go with the same roster or close to it next year. |

I just want to remind some, the Laine talk was just Botterill inquiring nothing more. Remeber, Laine will cost a lot per year I don't think they want to spend that as of now. |

At least it shows he's swinging for the fences |

Zegras is probably the best pure offensive skilled kid in the draft, and has speed. Starting to be a no brainer if he is still there imo. |

We are really stuck with Okposo, 4 more years is a hard sell for a guy that really brings nothing to the game. You can get a guy that makes 3-4 mill a year to get you 15 goals or close to it. |

He will be gone at 5/6th most likely? Will see where the draft falls?
*Maybe Botts moves up for a player at 4 or 5 (Turcotte), uses next year’s 2nd/McCabe |

Its an and situation imo. Cant be moving one to get the other. Wouldnt make sense. We need to add, not make lateral moves.
We some of the minor action going on, I want something done right now lol. And not Vesey! |

This would be a horrible move imo. This draft has most prospect rated the same from 2 to 10. Stay pat. |

But Laine is a home run, that may be asking a lot. |

Turcotte is either a Blackhawk or Av imo. If he slips by 4 I’d be shocked. Heck even if Byram goes 3 to Chicago I’d hope we’d be calling Colorado gunning for that 4th pick. |

If the Sabres moved up for Turcotte. I would not be mad.
My top 3
Turcotte
Zegras
Caulfield

Laine for Reinhart is not lateral it is an upgrade but I'd like both too but not sure how that happens without Reinhart. Actually, don't think it happens at all. |

Would you move down for so little? If you want to move up, it's costing 31.

Contrarian viewpoint: if you have the next 8-10 players aside from the top 2 the same, wouldn't you be good adding assets and still getting a talented player from that grouping? |

I thought so too re: Zegras, which makes me wonder why two posters here just posted they are torn on him. |

I actually wonder if they can move up from 31 by taking on a rough deal for a year. Someone on HFboards mentioned 18 and someone from dallas for 31.
Keeps them in the first round, but we get the better talent. |

Ive been reading Honka is on the outs in Dallas, and he wouldnt cost much. Late round pick. |
