With EK staying in San Jose it did a few things

Put another team in cap hell

Saved Tampa from themselves

Further to @TSNBobMcKenzie's report on Erik Karlsson, I'm told the deal is indeed done: 8 years max deal, north of $11 million per season... the Sharks with a huge move in keeping the superstar D from hitting the market.

That leaves the Sharks with about $13 million in cap space with a TON of players to sign

He was reallly, really good in the playoffs. Could definitely put them in a bind with his salary. Wouldn't mind that "a'tall," as Rob Ray would say

do you know which goalie they are moving? neither one really asserted themselves as better over the course of the season.. Although during that win streak i felt like Hutton was a big reason for the wins..

They need to sign Labanc, Meier, Donskoi, Pavelski, Nyquist and Thornton. And their depth. With 13M.

Vegas for Karlsson, SJ for Labanc or Hertl. Man, Hertl would be nice.

But at soon to be 35 years old and depending on what he wants contract wise I could see it

I would love him here for 2 years but I don't see him leaving the west

Burns (34 now) 8M until he is 40.
Couture (30 now) 8M until age 39
Vlasic (32 now) 7M until age 39.


All with NMC or M-NTC.

They are def set to not battle inflation in the NHL but man those guys are gonna SLOW DOWN and all be Pronger like deals. This will be the current Blackhawks cap hell situation.
