I've wanted Ehlers for quite a few years.... But I wouldn't do it at the cost of Reinhart. Honestly the 6x6 they have Ehlers on is cheaper than what Sam will ask for next year IMO.

If it was for Ehlers... I'd start with Nylander/Olofsson, 31 OA, and a mid round pick.


Adam Henrique.. he was really bad for them last year. His last good year worthy of that 5x5.85M that he is on was in 2015 when he put up a 30/20 season. To have him on that contract until he was 34 would be a mistake if we give up much.

Honestly... I'd do a 31 OA, Asplund, and Okposo for Henrique and Perry (2M retained). I konw they want money off the books but they'd be getting 2 big contracts off for just KO's. That way you basically have added 2 top 6 players. Idk.. just spitballing here.

I mean, we could both spin this whichever way. I could say Ehlers had 37 points in 62 games this year, and Reinhart's 65 points this year is better than Ehlers has ever done (by 1 point). Reinhart stays healthier, etc etc

So even if u said their ceilings are equal (65pts vs 64pts), Ehlers should probably get the edge bc he’s been a significantly better goal scorer so far

so i don’t think that would really play into it

I'd debate that. Anaheim is looking to flush all of their older vets, or at least most. If Anaheim can get an ok pick and 1 year of Scandella for Henrique, I think they think about it, just to toss that contract out. He's vastly overpaid.
