Let's see what he can do with better conditioning and some more muscle. No reason to pull the plug too soon. He can always move to wing later.
Oh, and someone teach that boy about faceoffs - jcragcrumple
Why? It's not like faceoffs matter. |

If you can move Scandella and replace dion for that. I would be okay with that.
But I want the defense to be reshuffled. So I am desperate to see changes. - Sabretooth9
As of now:
Dahlin-Risto/Bogo
McCabe-Montour
Pilut-Bogo/Risto

Well there’s not a lot to discuss
U certainly don’t add to the convo with your dumbass trade proposals where we get back guys that play on separate teams 😂😂😂😂
And no one is forcing you to read my posts,
or respond to them
Just skip right by them if it bothers u that much
But then i guess you’d have to find someone else to troll
I bet you’re a great human - jdfitz77
Risto and Reinhart for Stammer and Johnny Hockey. I wonder if Tampa would do it? |

Nothing about that d alignment makes sense. I enjoy the input from Homie and 89 as to what they're hearing about Risto staying, but to me, Montour and Risto occupy the same role. And Risto is the most valuable trade chip we have that isn't 7oa.
I have to believe Risto is shuffled off for forwards and a partner is brought in for Dahlin. Neither Montour nor Risto should occupy that role, and God help us if Bogo is there |

Lots of kids struggle at faceoff early on
Crosby, Jack, McDavid... just to mention a few
Mitts should get better as he gets stronger & more experienced at it |

Well “as of now” our choices for Dahlin partner are:
Bogo-
actually looked mostly decent, and even somewhat good at times with Dahlin
Risto-
played with Dahlin very little, but if Bogo take take a leap from terrible to decent then maybe Risto can get consistently better with him too
Montour-
got a little time with Dahlin & was ok i think
They stylistically don’t seem to be the best for though
Or we move Dahlin to the right side & play him with... McCabe?
I hear ya
But as of now... those are our options |

I worry that if you brand him as "not a real center" too soon, he'll never grow into the job. I think he can be good there if given some real tools to work with. I really like his playmaking from the position, and he's not totally lost defensively |

Botterill says he doesn't want to go the FA route, well he might have to. Trade from one area and then you are weak at the other and our D is very weak IMO. Build from the net, then the D core, then forwards. |

I don't believe one of those 3 will be his partner. If they are, Botterill isn't doing his job

Yeah, i kinda feel we did that with Sam
Last “shot” he got at Center was a few years ago with Pouliot & Seth Griffith on his wings
I’m thinking Botts is aware we need wingers for more than just Jack though

Botts/Kruger might not be as down on Risto as many on here though
It’ll be interesting to see what Botts can pull off |

I’m sure the Ducks would agree to give us Vatanen
Jersey might have a say in the matter though |

With UPL in the waiting ( a year or 2). I can’t see a major goalie change with Hutton or Ullmark.
But yeah the defense needs to be reshuffled big time.

Let’s wait & see on him
I heard an interview with a Finish guy that thinks he needs another year to get stronger before he can make the switch to the NHL
Too bad it’s NHL or back to Finlnd though
Would probably be ideal to start him in Rochester & the call him up at some point |

31 and laaksonen for Zucker
Sign Greg McKegg and call it an off-season?
