Imagine most people here wanted nothing to do with another Skinner situation playing out, but this time with a guy who didn't want to be here.

The Jets were fleeced. That said, I wonder if his contract demands scared people away.

There's no reason to trade a first round pick for an unsigned player, RFA or not. That's obscene. The Jets absolutely fleeced the Rangers. He wasn't going to re-sign in Winnipeg, so getting anything is awesome, the 20th overall and a warm body is fantastic.

It would be nice to see Botts be proactive, instead of reactive. Address what he needs, and go get it. He has a lot of work to do, and waiting to see how things shake out with other teams is going to yield more middling garbage.

It has to have been. Can you imagine trading the 20th pick and then not re-signing a player? Even with arbitration, that means he's probably gone in 2 years.

Not sure. Pionk is younger and cheaper than McCabe, maybe even better. He's certainly more appealing for Wpg.

Vlasic used to be a beast, he was horrible last year. I honestly wouldnt want him on the team for the next 7 years.

I would look at Braun or Dillon, both on the last year of their deals.
