I don't think the bolts will move point, and I am not sure he is anything more then a system guy, really good of course but I would bet he would be a 55 to 60 point player here
- homiedclown

I can’t see a 40 point drop off from him.

I think he is that good.

Gudas if he can play clean hockey is a very solid guy to have

I wouldn't be opposed to him here if he could remove the dirty suspension play from his game

- Stripes77

we would probably be better off if we had more guys that played with an edge

He'd probably be playing with Mitts/Olofsson on the left, and Reinhart on the right. He'd get 65 at a minimum imo.

It fits under the cap.

Gave Point a bridge for 2/6mm per.

It all fit, signed McCabe for 3mm per and I was at 77.

- ImThatGuy

There’s no way that Point signs for 6.

He's most likely right, though, that Tampa will figure out a way to keep him.

BREAKING: The #Flyers have acquired defenseman Matt Niskanen from the Capitals in exchange for defenseman Radko Gudas.

This seems like a pretty bad deal for the Flyers

Fine.

Even then give him 9 for 7

It still fits under the cap.

That is AWFULLY generous of Point to sign such a team friendly deal for a team he has never played for before. If he would sign that he would stay in Tampa.

Even taken his rookie season into account he is averaging 32 goals per 82 games played and 71 points per 82 games played

A bridge deal can be done but he isn't signing a bridge deal for less than $7 million per year.

I agree he isn't a 90 point player here but he is probably a 70 point player.

A 23 year old 70 point player is going to get at least $10 million per

best thing for the sabres, IMO

offer Duchene a 3 year 36 mil contract

(hides)

- homiedclown

I think Botts might need to join you if he did something like that

Gudas is pretty slow. I remember Eichel absolutely roasting him on a goal this year

Sabres need talent though. We can’t keep waiting and waiting. I get dahlin will get paid a lot

But try and win now and pay them later.

Niskanen is a guy that looks like he's on the downside of his career, he'll be 33 in December and has two years left at $5.7
Gudas will be 29 next year, played his role more effectively than Niskanen last year and the Flyers picked up 30% of his $3.5 salary

The last few years Niskanen put up 29 and 25 points so his days of being a big time offensive contributor might be over, but he has always played more minutes than Gudas so I'm guessing they hope they've got a 4th dman as opposed to bottom pairing. They'll also be paying 33 year old Matt Niskanen almost $7 million this year when you consider the retained cap on Gudas

Pierre LeBrun mentioned the sabres and Duchene earlier this week, so there is that

(waits for habs and pred talk)

Shut up.... did he really? In what context?
